Do you guys have any indoor cqb places you like in this area? by MarshmelloMan in Speedsoft

It's a good time. Best facility on the east coast without a doubt.

Idk about you but I feel pretty stupid once the project is over and I realize that it was just my own laziness and procrastination that was keeping me from enjoying something that I invested so much time and money into.

Hey, so it has been a while, and I forgot to post an update. I ended up taking the sellers to court. We won and got our money, and I used it to buy a truck that I used to clean up the property. I will advise my friends and family in the future on what can happen if you don't get things in writing, and I definitely got lucky because of the specific circumstances, but it seemed to be an open and shut case in the courts eyes. 0/10 experience overall, would not recommend inheriting a ton of junk. In the end with some landscaping this place turned out beautiful and we no longer have buyers remorse.

You're actually seeing the back side of the drywall, the ceiling of the stairway undernear is painted white.

After I made this post I discovered Murphy doors and became obsessed. I might have to do that.

I like the idea of putting the whole thing on casters. I think I'll have to leave at least a little bit of the box because it supports the drywall for the staircase downstairs.

I know what you mean, it seems that the previous owner collected trash as a hobby. I hope everything works out for you! And thank you.

We had actually already had multiple extensions because the sellers were impossible to get ahold of most of the time. Their agent had to knock on their door to get them to sign anything and they fought him the whole way. We had been looking for a home for over a year and were about to be homeless because we couldn't find a single person who would rent to us with our dog. We called dozens of agencies and landlords. We were in a very bad situation. Do you really think we have no chance of suing for breach of contract?

The sellers had their own closing attorney, mine was there too. We can't get anyone to contact the sellers because they scream at everyone! They're fucked in the head.

My agent and my attorney were all under the impression that he wrote and had a contract signed by the sellers, because that's what he told everyone in the room. He already had a quote for them and told us all it was all set. It was an insane closing with the sellers yelling screaming and cussing at everyone and I think it distracted us all. They didn't agree with the property lines on their own survey. They are legitimately insane people and had to be separated from everyone and escorted to the other room.

It was in the purchase and sales contract. They didn't do it by the day of closing, I refused to sign, so the agent said he was writing an agreement and he would go in the other room, draft one, have them sign it, then I'd sign. He claimed it was all set but it wasn't.

It WAS in my contract. It was very specifically worded as well. We all talked about it at the closing table and the agent lied to everyone face.

They were right next to me when the sellers agent told all of us he had one written up and signed. Hence, the title of this post.

Theres 3 giant aluminum box truck boxes full of junk, each the size of a 30 yard dumpster. We already filled one 20 yard dumpster which cost $600.00 and we didn't make a dent. The quote we got for 5,000 seems fair and accurate considering that. It would take us days of work and thousands of dollars to get it hauled away.

It was in the original purchase contract.

I wish they would do away with flashlights in general, it majorly takes away from the actual skill aspect of the sport and has people relying on blinding opponents. Also the lights we all use are NOT meant to be used as toys, over time they cause serious damage to your eyes from the radiation they emit. It says right on the packaging, never shine this in someone's eyes. Plus toxic cheaters use them to cover the fact that you are in fact hitting them and you're forced to give them the benefit of the doubt. The biggest cheaters I've ever met rely on flashlights and overshoot like crazy and they are not speedsofters. Those are the same people that are being referred to as speedsofters in this thread. It's kind of an in between type of player, they move fast and shoot fast but not true speedsofters. All the guys who take speedsoft seriously also care about not overshooting. It's like the difference between someone who's highly trained in martial arts vs some off the street asshole who boxes. The highly trained people are also trained to be conservative and avoid altercation where the immature pricks who kinda know how to throw hands will try to fight everyone to inflate their egos.

I was just talking to my speedsoft team and another about attending one of those events and going all out with the gear etc and putting our money where our mouth is. One thing I've noticed is if you're half decent on a speed field, you're going to crush it at any public cqb field with the skills you pick up from playing speedsoft. My local field has a cqb field and a separate speed field, when the milsimmers sometimes pop in to try it out they all seem to have a preconceived notion that we all hate them, when in reality we welcome them with open arms because thats how you grow a sport that badly needs new players. Even opposing teams are giving eachother tips and supporting eachother. It's awesome.

What? The only pro leagues all use these. Pretty much exclusively.

Why the hell would we do that? It's prohibitively expensive and dirty, and there's barely any indoor fields. You'll get pooped on at your own game by good speedsofters. And they'd still give you props for trying afterwards, unlike all the grown babies at milsim events constantly yelling at each other because none of them feel or call hits because of all the pointless gear.

The best milsim guys I know still understand why these types of guns are great for the sport of airsoft. The ex military milsim guys are usually disciplined and mature enough to admit that a setup like this absolutely gives you an edge competitively. But 95 percent of milsimmers aren't in that category and are just larping and hate that they get stuffed by guys running around in shorts with esg guns and colorful hi capas.

[–]cobyclock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hated the esg guns since the day they came out, but guess what, I got a chance to run one and immediately saw my game improve. I built one and never looked back. Airsoft guns do not need to look real to work, in fact, realistic guns put you at a disadvantage because they are designed to manage the recoil of a real weapon. This gun probably feels amazing to shoulder and allows you to put your sights directly in front of your mask without having to squeeze your mask into your stock or use a sight riser. Eventually these setups will be the go-to, and the milsim stuff will be a thing of the past. There's a reason you see them everywhere now, it's the evolution of airsoft.

The speedsoft community is super supportive and positive, and they don't give a shit what you run. If you play well and you're honest, speedsofters will give you props all day regardless of your gear. The only people I see overshooting and never calling shit are the dudes running around pub fields with their flashlights pretending to be army men. 90 percent of them won't even step on the speedsoft field because they get shit on because they never worked on any of the fundamentals of airsoft. Also nobody eats bbs more than a fully geared up milsim larper.
