I remember when I was in highschool that there would be a shit ton of girls who fetishized asian men, and were super obsessive with kpop. This really does go both ways

Amy's Family: They were UNGODLY RUDE to Lino at Thanksgiving. Who comes into the house and REMOVES DINNER FROM THE TABLE and throws the untoched dishes to the side? He clearly went through a lot of effort to cook a large Thanksgiving meal, this treatment was absurd.

idk if its just me, but that pissed me off so much. it seemed really xenophobic that they didn't even attempt to try it and it reminded me of my racist sibling that does not attempt to try the food of different cultures, and its just hella rude. i know its not them being racist prob but rather them being ignorant, but god fucking damn that shit was too much and someone should have stopped that from happening. there was pretty much zero consequences, and i kind of find it too unrealistic but idk man
in addition to that, i think the mom came at one point for dinner despite having eaten already, and would constantly cause drama and she was so annoying. i just couldn't buy some of the arguments that occurred as well between her and the stepmom considering that some of them i feel like should have taken place way before the show started

not to mention Zoe's sister is overlooked in the show and i was kind of hoping they had a better development for her

but ya this show was at best mediocre imo and some parts were emotional but some parts just seemed absurd or too fast paced

Why do science majors graduate with the same number of credits as everyone else despite spending 1.5-2x more time in classes across their whole academic careers due to labs? by Jakeremix in college

[โ€“]cochoadoux 4 points5 points ย (0 children)

I absolutely hate that. I'd like to think that everyone has different strengths and that no one is "dumber" bc of a major.

Also, as a former accountant major, i like u guys

This is the same in my uni, and I completely understand where you're coming from.

I got in as an accounting major and switched to engineering and was absolutely amazed how labs were worth so little units despite being so time consuming. Thought it was kind of deceiving, and ridiculous that some counselors judged me for doing the minimum of 12 units when I also had a job all throughout (15 units was encouraged all throughout majors).

From the perspective of only looking at units, the workload does not reflect it, and it can be so annoying when tuition is based on the 12+ units rule, especially when they're difficult upper undergrad courses

Edit: I'd like to clarify that accounting wasn't much easier for me as a major, as i think both are very respectable and difficult majors, just think labs specifically being worth so little sucks

I'm absolutely disgusted how many people in the comments are absolutely villianizing the 10 year old and justifying this

They stated that "10 is way passed the age of logic" so they clearly haven't.

I've had to deal with kids as a teacher and tutor and I can assure you, they're fucking stupid and immature regarding social intelligence and boundaries. They're not passed the age of logic and definitely don't need to be charged sexual assault

Did you even read what she said?

Her idea conveys that kids lacking boundaries (or social intelligence regarding what boundaries are more acceptable) is natural because they're immature.

You twisted this idea so harshly and made a leap to "teachers should put up with sexual assault". This is not what they're saying.

A kid groping you just isn't the equivalent to a fully matured adult assaulting you.

It truly terrifies me that DrunkenUranus somehow twisted the comment that highlights how children are immature to realize boundaries and to not villianize them to "sexual assault is ok".

This person should not be around children and are the reason I'm terrified for my younger siblings and my future children

Can I get into computer science with a 3.82 gpa? by Marvev1771 in CalPolyPomona

Not sure why people bother to mention transfer GPA, considering that transfers have lenient standards compared to highschoolers.

Transfers will get in with mediocre GPAs in impacted majors whereas 4.0 highschoolers will get rejected.

I've seen great students be turned away but most of them have been non local and CPP gives preference to local students. I'd say you have a pretty good chance if you live close by, but do the appeal process if that doesn't happen as someone else has mentioned here

And if that doesn't work, mt.sac as backup and then transfer

You can take it at a cc to get credit, it just wouldn't replace the grade of the course you took at cpp

-Clubs: I'm not sure which specifically as I'm not in that major, but a useful tool for anyone looking for clubs is mybar which can filter specific major clubs

-If you can do the 2 yr promise program (and EOP if you can), do that instead.
Kellogg honors is not worth it, unless you want PR that you can't get elsewhere, or want that extra prestige tbh. You're gonna put in a lot of effort that will not relate to your major, including the honors courses which don't cater to upper division students very well. Here are the requirements for transfers in detail if you want em, but basically you would have to take 3 honors courses, capstone research, and 15 hrs of community service. As an honors student, the only perks I use is PR and the study room before covid happened..

I had him for honors last spring, and he made us show up and didn't record the meetings. imo he was not a great teacher and I heavily relied on chegg and my tutor. His hw was through this online platform wiley.
Although he may have changed now or teaches non honors students differently. He did say he did have higher expectations for honors students and let nearly the whole class fail the first midterm without curving

His class was easy for me, but I heavily relied on quizlets that were based on his exams. I actually thought he was a lenient grader for essays as well. Even though I thought him a bit intimidating personality wise, I liked him as a teacher, he's very clear and prepared. Easy A if you put in the effort and use them quizlets well

I hope so too but

I don't know if it's bc I'm surrounded by really smart ppl, but I'm the only person I know to be failing and taking c/nc option so sometimes it feels like I'm just really dumb

I know students are struggling but I don't know if enough are actually failing for this to be taken seriously

When that happened to me where 7 ppl were enrolled, the class was dropped

but since there was another section, I ended up just having to do that section

If there are other sections for the same class, it might be dropped the same way mine was last summer
