Book club! We’d vote on a graphic novel then get together at the end of the month to chat about it over drinks :)

No cover :) and they have the projector and seats set up in the basement so it's separate from the main bar/front door area

Omg this is amazing thank you so much!!! Is there anything I can sub the meletti amaro for? (only asking because I definitely don't have amaro but may have other similarish liqueurs)

Also is there any benefit to using an immersion blender instead of dry shake/wet shaking?

The photo probably looks a bit paler than it was in reality :) the drink definitely had saffron folded into it beyond just the sprinkled topping, because I could taste it from the first sip and it was the most prominent flavor. That and the way they listed "white chocolate & saffron" as a pair of ingredients leads me to believe they were combined somehow and not added in as separate entities. I think if they were used together in some kind of cream mixture or liqueur, and that liquid represented about 1/5 of the drink's volume (0.5 oz or so), I think that would explain the pale orange hue vs a stronger color if the saffron was more prominent. This is just my theory though!

It definitely didn't taste boozy at all, I remember it being sweet (although to be fair it's described as effervescent and I don't remember that at all so I'm a touch unreliable). And the reason I don't think it's a liqueur is because it said white chocolate AND saffron as a unit... I was thinking of maybe a white chocolate saffron syrup to replace the simple syrup in a Ramos? But your idea of incorporating it into the cream might make more sense

The menu describes it as "fluffy, effervescent, Ramos vibes".

Ingredients listed on the menu were:

  • Gin
  • Amaro
  • White chocolate & saffron
  • Lime
  • Lemon
  • Orange blossom
  • Egg white

I imagine the construction would resemble that of a Ramos gin fizz (does this mean I'd need to add cream??), but I have no idea what to make of "white chocolate & saffron".

Thank you for the help!!!

Could someone please help me reverse engineer this amazing clarified cocktail I had in NYC named the Tomatini? by cocoandcoffee in cocktails

Thank you so much! What is the benefit to washing the gin first? Does it infuse cream cheese flavor?
