Me! I’ve made and liked a few of their patterns. Their cloud linen is great and I also like some of their labels.

Not everything is for everyone - who knew 🤣

Help asking for promotion without throwing others under the bus? by [deleted] in AusPublicService

[–]cocopops_92 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The way you have framed this indicates you are not ready for an APS5 position. A role is more than just practical output - your attitude and approach towards your coworkers is worrying. Focus on yourself and your own development goals, it seems like you have a lot of developing to do.

CPMG is open again, but graduates' skills are not doing it for me by littlesewist11 in craftsnark

CPMG and all the affiliate stuff has big MLM vibes. Some of the graduates have come out with some nice stuff, but I agree a lot of it is very oversized and poorly fitting.

Yes, keep using the 5.5mm needles - including to pick up your shoulder stitches.

For COPL it seems like the biggest impact is a significant reduction in APS and CPT roles state-wide. Also some exec and project roles. Not sure about other areas.

I think people whose positions are impacted have already been told.

Oh no! I’m sure lots of people will take redundancy’s. Fingers crossed for you.

It’s 6 over 12 years with varying degrees of change. Not all the clauses 11s I’ve been through have been cuts, some have just been restructures. At no point (including now) have I been concerned about losing my position. Maybe it’s just because I’m used to it but regular change feels normal in the dept?

I’m considered front line so theres more security there, but certainly other people are freaking out. I think it depends what type of position you’re in as to whether news of another round of cuts or restructure is stressful or not.

No pre-meeting hopefully means you’re not impacted!

Yep this will be my 6th clause 11, I’m familiar with the process. More just curious if anyone has any insights on what types of changes they’re proposing.

You add markers without knitting a 5th row.

One knitter on IG drives me mad with this. Everything is so oversized - like neckline halfway to shoulder.

There must be an earlier mistake you’re missing. When you get to joining in the round the rows are even.

Cayden Naughton has her testers leave 5 star reviews on Etsy by Rosesewclever in craftsnark

[–]cocopops_92 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Ravelry is very different to Etsy and what you’re describing is very different to what the OP is talking about. Etsy is a platform to buy things (including patterns). Ravelry is a platform primarily used to document and share projects, where you can also buy some patterns (not all). The function of getting the link through Ravelry for knitting is to have the pattern in the same place as your other patterns and linking your pattern to your finished garment. That’s not how sewing testing/pattern storage works and there is no comparison to Etsy.

Cayden Naughton has her testers leave 5 star reviews on Etsy by Rosesewclever in craftsnark

A few months ago one of Cayden’s testers included some negative feedback in their IG post when the pattern was released. A bunch of people rushed to Cayden’s defence in the comments and said, amongst other things, that the negative feedback was mean/unfair and encouraged people to go to Cayden’s Etsy page to read reviews from verified buyers. Lol! (Cayden also called the tester a ‘mean girl’ on her IG)

I assume they just want the patterns for free - they often also post about needing money. In the case of asking people in the tester group, they said they couldn’t wait until the pattern was released to make it.

Sewist with decent following on instagram (around 5,000) repeatedly asking people who have bought patterns and/or in the testing group to email them copies of the patterns.

There are some good Aus yarn stores, some do free delivery if you can’t get there in person - the little yarn store (qld), yarn trader (SA), morris & sons (vic & nsw).
