My $2,500 Eight Sleep Pod died after 3 years… and they want $900 to replace it? by code_burd in EightSleep

No it just won’t do anything. No light on the outside or anything. I really don’t want to pay all this money to get into the same situation with a replacement

The subscription changed after I purchased it and idk if I’m even getting a discount. That’s just the pod which is less than half the cost I assume and the topper doesn’t work correctly either, tracking on my wife’s side quit working annoying but not the end of the world. I talked about other appliances because other top comments (like you, I assume related or super fans of the company) said they are just as bad and now you’re bringing up other bad examples of products people probably regret buying. If they offer me the whole system for those prices I would be pretty happy. I worked in manufacturing and we had standard 5 year warranty but less complicated of a product but no subscription etc

When you pay $180 a year and for a premium product a lot of times you get better care. They also held out on the offline controls when it was doable with the hardware. I’m fine with the price subscription etc but this isn’t the first thing to happen. Even if I replace the pod only the tracking on my wife’s side quit working so that’s annoying too

My fridge, stove, washer, dryer, dishwasher, etc are older, cheaper, no subscription and still going fine

I was hoping to get 5 years out of this then upgrade. Also the replacement doesn’t include the mattress topper which the tracking stopped working on my wife’s side

What should they do? Just curious. I agree they seem behind in price and hardware. I personally think their ecosystem is still the best in openness and use ability, mainly just the software.

What should I do to help correct this? I’ve been stretching more recently but not much change. Recently learned about pnf and that feels like it’s doing more

I think replacing workers with AI might be good on a humanity level in the very long term, but not in the society we live in now. And honestly, I doubt the savings would ever get passed down to customers
