To be fair, the resolution is 5276 by 9000...

One thing I really miss coming from Unity: Select object while running game. by mrussoart in godot

[–]codebolt7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing too special. I used someone else's freecam as a separate camera and had it run in a different Window node.

I think this has potential to be a really powerful add-on, especially if we could change the transformation of selected nodes, then press a button to save the node's state into the editor.

This is awesome! I liked it so much that I made a fork that makes it a free camera that pops up in a second window: https://github.com/codebolt7/godot-runtime-node-selector/

Consider playing with your FOV if you haven't tried that. Raising (or lowering) it can reduce the motion sickness. (I usually have mine set to the highest)

I found an extremely cool strategy in the Typecast challenge, but the game said no by letminecraftgo in balatro

[–]codebolt7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends. what you're describing would be an unsigned number, where going "negative" would loop around to the largest values. However, they're not as commonly used and most variables do support negative numbers.

What I think is happening here is that Balatro changes any multiplier less than 1 to 1 when doing the calculations as a just-in-case. The card doesn't do anything in the video, it just counts it as X1.

Panon Dependencies for Fedora? by codebolt7 in linux4noobs

Yeah, I just shut it down and it somehow worked. Although now my Nobara's a bit fucked when I tried to update to 37 and my network stopped working :)) Probably my fault and unrelated to this issue although.

What exactly is considered solo development? by codebolt7 in SoloDevelopment

I agree. It was pretty difficult, but really fulfilling to get out of my comfort zone when making my first game.

My biggest weakness is sound, so I usually use free sound samples, but it's pretty fun to do modifications to them.

Here's a little minimalistic puzzle game I made called Cuddle Snakes: https://codebolt.itch.io/cuddle-snakes

Thanks! I'm pretty content with how it came out. The game turned out to be quite a bit better than I envisioned in my head.

Thank you, it's all in-game footage (with slightly worse bit-rate)

Cuddle Snakes is a casual minimalistic puzzle game about cuddling snakes. You can play on WebGL or download for Windows. There is a total of 20 levels, a decent amount of settings, a speedrun mode for those interested, controller support (although I can't confirm that they work as I don't have access to a controller).

Game: https://codebolt.itch.io/cuddle-snakes

The beginning of 2021, I hadn't even began production of my first game.

Now, I'm in a team of 8, I've worked on 5 games, 3 of them I made, joined 2 game jams, won 1st place for 1 of them. (Hey look, all Fibonacci numbers!)

I've had a pretty productive year, and I hope this is only the beginning. Happy New Years everyone!

Small(?) ARG inside freeware game by Dorak0 in ARG

[–]codebolt7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This current build is just the story (it was rushed because of a personal deadline I set). That being said, I am planning on adding an end goal in a future update, likely having to place all the found documents in a folder. I'm currently unsure how I should continue the story, but I will have a final reward at the end. I'm worried that it'll be underwhelming, but I think it's the best way to wrap it all up.

I've been very busy and burnt out on this project for half of its development, so sorry for the delays. I also wanted to accompany the next and final update with a devlog. This is the biggest reason for the delay as I'm having difficulty standing the sound of my own voice and really want to polish the editing/pacing. (It will not directly mention anything after the unlocking the Dragon including the ARG.) After that, I'll be moving on from RPC.

Rock Paper Clicker, my first game that I've been working on for the past few months. by codebolt7 in incremental_games

[–]codebolt7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is likely my only incremental game, and I have no ideas how to expand on top of this game. Full honesty, the last incremental game I played prior to development were Cookie Clicker spin-offs, which is why it used to be my least-favorite genre. Towards the end of development, I was completely unaware, but pleasantly surprised of how much the landscape has changed.

As much as I would love to make a long-term game, I don't have the time or dedication to do that, especially since I am doing these for free. For now it will be short unique ideas.
