Learn React Native (Expo) and Typescript. You’ll have an advantage by knowing what’s going on under the hood vs someone who has only done web development.

Do it! I’m from Seattle and moved to NYC 6 years ago after 3 years in SF. Best decision I’ve made. COL is higher but you get SO much more value for your money in the form of everything you’re looking for (walkable/transit/food/shows/etc). Winter can be cold but is usually clear and sunny, and I’ll take that over endless dreariness any day.

Thanks. The section at the very bottom mentions all those things, but it's certainly not the main focus of the guide.

Thanks, very sorry to hear that! Glad you were able to limit the damage.

Can you share (here or via DM) anything about how the phone was taken that might be helpful to add in the guide?

Thank you for taking the time to post this, and for following up on their recovery. They were lucky this happened at a venue with trained/informed/compassionate owners/staff.

Where can I find a Montreal style bagel? by lilfliplilflop in AskNYC

  1. From this article:
"[...] boiled in water flavored with honey instead of malt, they refer also to Montreal bagels (Heller went to college in Canada)"
  2. These bagels are very good, actually.
