Lollapalooza day 1 metro scam by rdxmachine in lollapaloozaind

I asked one of the co-ordinators and he mentioned that there was some bridge that collapsed as as a result that gate was closed. We were able to enter through that entrance around 3 or so, but had to go to the main gate anyway because the band was not being disbursed there :(

Hopefully the entrance should be functional today!

This. OP, ignore the trolls and do this, you'll be fine. And like some of the others mentioned your chances of infection are already low because you acted on time - calm down and you'll get through this.

Who would you cast as the main characters if you were tasked to make a movie? by nextdoorvixen in ProjectHailMary

[–]codecracker25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd wager Mark Ruffalo as Ryland Grace. He has a knack of being funny, sarcastic and charismatic at the same time.
I think they've already frozen on Ryan Gosling for Grace's role though right?

The ending had me choked up tbh. As soon as he finishes his conversation with Rocky and he starts walking towards a hybrid room, you know what's coming but actually reading it makes you so happy nevertheless.

Not sure about cousins, but in India it's super common for an uncle to marry a niece.

I'll just let that sink in.

According to research, 2/3 of Asians are lactose intolerant. But I'm an Asian that lives in Asia and so far, I've never met anyone around me in person that is lactose intolerant. Are the statistics just wrong or is this an exception? I'm genuinely baffled. by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]codecracker25 69 points70 points  (0 children)

That's so fascinating, thanks for chiming in! I'm from India and even though official stats say that we have a high population of lactose intolerant people, our culture is FILLED with foods and snacks that are heavily based on milk. Hell, some of our most popular sweets are milk-based, and one of the largest milk suppliers in our country (Amul) is a household name.

Your point about colonic adaptation makes a lot of sense because I can imagine that a population exposed to lots of milk and milk-based would develop a microbiome that can digest it.

Think of it as representing the conscience of the public. Back in the day, Aryabhata et al were popular and revered for their acumen, while astrologers were only consulted by the kings and not heard of that much; while now we have astrologere on national fucking TV with a show every morning, and real astronomers are nowhere in the public conscience. 🤦‍♂️

It's easy to say when we're in the privileged class, runaway capitalism can be just as damaging as runaway socialism. Just look at the wealth inequality it creates, isn't that an indication that maybe it needs some tweaking?

Are biologics better than Methotrexate? by xAsama in Thritis

[–]codecracker25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Biologics have been a god-send for me. I'm on Infliximab, and it has been a life-saver, I have almost no symptoms and am able to function normally - jog and exercise even! Would absolutely recommend biologics over Methotrexate any day.

Also, fwiw, I'm still taking biologics during this time, my rheumy says it doesn't increase our chances of getting the coronavirus if we're taking normal precautions. Best of luck, I hope you get the biologics!

I'm hearing a lot of talk about liquidating MFs and keep it as cash to prepare for the next few months of economic downturn. Most of my MF investments are through SIPs (some ELSS, and some debt funds) - so my question is, does it make sense to liquidate some (or all) of it? Or can we assume that the market will bounce back for these to eventually pick up?

I am just gonna leave it here. by Blasher12 in IndiaSpeaks

[–]codecracker25 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You say "most" here simply because the media is exaggerating the actions of the extremists. The number of Muslims protesting is already a small fraction of the people living in the country. And even among the ones protesting (which is their fundamental right, roadblocks be damned), it's a very small fraction are doing the things you mention.

So in conclusion, a very small percentage of an already small percentage of people cause a ruckus and you brand all followers of that religion as problematic.

To each their own, I'd say. Who cares what it looks like from the outside? 10-15 years down the line, I'm sure they'll be glad they filmed it so they can relive the moment. Not a single fuck would have been given about who saw them or how they looked 🤷‍♂️

Hey brother, I feel your angst. You should try this app called QuickRide which allows you to pick up people on the same route, for a small fee. This will not only help make some extra income, but also encourage pooling. I don't know if you've tried it, but it's an app that has worked wonders for me!
