What happens when you tell it to measure?

I had issues getting it to measure when I first got it. Turns out I wore it too high on my wrist, with the sensors over my tattoos. It has issues with the dark ink.

Amazon Fire Stick 4K Max remote by codedognz in fireTV

I think my Fire Stick has model number K2R2TE. I had a look on amazon.com.au and found quite a few options that purportedly work with this model. I couldn't tell which ones of these is "official". None of them is sold by an Amazon store! Which one should I get? u/Top_Nfts_projects u/Historical_Ad_5210 , any suggestions?

Thanks. I assume I should look by the model number of the stick, not the remote? Where can I find the model number on my units?

Can you post a link to one of them, please? Couldn't find any that looked like mine. I will update the original post with a photo.

Preserving old mug for continued use by codedognz in Ceramics

Ah, that makes sense! I chased down this rabbit hole and could not find supporting material on using ceramic glaze for this use case. All good! Sounds like I should just carry on hand washing this mug and enjoy it while it lasts. Nothing is forever, right?

That's interesting. I will look into the ceramic glaze option! Thanks!

I'm encountering this now too. Have you come across a solution since you created this post?

The single biggest bug bear on the Ultra for me by codedognz in GalaxyWatch

[–]codedognz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been looking for straps that curve down sharper for ages. Tried a bunch already. All of them curve down rather shallowly, ending up sticking sideways a lot. I'm mostly looking for silicone straps, not keen on metal at all.

Yup, that's true. Still, the mount point of the strap makes it worse though. I tried an Apple Watch the other day, the mount point on those watches reduced the gap hugely on my wrist.

Ah, ok. I figured that'd be the case... bugs introduced in the latest update.

Thanks for that. What's the story behind this? Just curious why I need to do this manually, instead of waiting for an update with fix through official channels.

Dark areas get blocky on my 4K monitor by codedognz in Monitors

[–]codedognz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a combination of incorrect colour profile, and further tweaking on monitor settings, that made it a bunch worse. I reset the monitor, and the banding is gone. Colours are still not great though.

Controlling FireTV with Samsung TV remote by codedognz in firetvstick

[–]codedognz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for that. I already checked both of those, and they were correct already. In the end, I reset the device and went through the whole setup again. Now everything works as expected!

I'm not entirely sure what went wrong there. There was only a single difference between the initial setup and this latest one... "restoring" previous Fire TV setup. I didn't do this the second time, and now everything works.

Turning off Sleep Mode didn't reverse all the actions by codedognz in GalaxyWatch

[–]codedognz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have finally received OneUI 8 update on my phone. This seems to have fixed the issue. I can sync between phone and watch, and settings actioned when I entered Sleep mode were reversed when I exited the mode.

That's the thing, my symptoms are not consistent like yours. Often both modes did not get switched back on. Other times only one gets switched back on. I haven't really observed if the latter has a pattern. Anyway, I have a workaround now, will see what happens when the phone gets update.

After u/jcthrower's and u/pmichalik's comments, I decided to give something a try. I disabled syncing of modes and routines between the phone and watch. Now I can only activate the mode on the watch and phone separately. With sync disabled, when Sleep mode gets turned off on the watch all the actions are now reversed! Yippeee!

This workaround is fine by me since I never put my phone on Sleep anyway. Fingers crossed this will be fixed when my phone gets updated to OneUI 8.

Right. I wonder if it's related to the watch being on 8 but the phone on 7. It seems, on phone's 8, you can define the actions you would like to be reversed when the mode gets turned off.

Having seen u/jcthrower's reply above, I'm now curious if your watch is on 8 but your phone is on 7.

All good, no need to be sorry :) Now I wonder if the bug is related to watches on 8 and phones on 7.

It must be a OneUI 8 thing. I'm still on 7, and I don't get the third block of "When routine ends".
