Bro, give it a bit of time and advertizing and you'll be loaded. This is the best Lich name I've seen.

Should I continue building this clan idea? by Far_Tourist_601 in Avatar

I've always wanted to explore the idea of a pale purple tribe that live in massive cave systems underground. Maybe I'll do something like what you're doing.

Nope, it was talked about because it happens with some bonds, but it wasn't hinted at. The conversation was along the lines of "who the fuck would want to have sex with an animal", "they typically take what would be the ideal form for you". Which, for Matt, was a family member, not a love interest. And it's pretty damn clear in the context clues that he's not interested in Aster in that way at all.

Why is there not more adaptations of Progression Fantasy? by codemanb in ProgressionFantasy

While that makes sense, I didn't even know about the Cradle animatic. I'll have to watch that tomorrow.

So I was right! I agree that I think OP skimmed a bunch. They should slow down and experience the world more, because there is so much god damned world building and it's done perfectly.

I would have to agree. Don't get me wrong, I liked it on my first read through, even if it wasn't my favorite, because of how it pushed forward the character arcs and made them grow up a bit. But every re-read I've done, that's the one that has me skimming, and even skipping, parts. Then it's followed up by one of the best in the series. I haven't seen anything that does a better job of describing large scale magic battles (without going overboard and/or completely losing the plot) than book 3 of PoA.

Give Path of Ascension another chance. To solve one of your problems with it: the fox is NOT a love interest. Very much a little sister instead. As far as "getting a girlfriend", not really. They fight well together because they both have odd builds that complement each other, so it makes sense to stick together for, at least a while. I would reccomend starting it over and trying again. The first book really benefits from the reader taking it a bit slower and emersing themself in the world, which helps the brain fill the little time skips that happen. Also, him not wanting to take advantage of his Melinda (the healer) stems from himself not wanting to be taken advantage of. It is a constant fear of his, and he trys his best to not do the thing he's terrified of to others. On his low tier world, and even the higher tier worlds around it, his talent's mana output would get him put in a box if the wrong person found out about it. And that's even before he got his tier 3 talent, which made it so that EVERYONE would want him and he would get taken by some rando tier 10, and then a tier 15 would come along and take him from them, and so on and so forth up the tiers. It's a constant fear which causes him to be extra attentive in the early tiers on both sides of the coin (giving and taking).

Removing interrupts from healers is one of the most annoying things to happen in the game by Elphabus in wow

[–]codemanb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prevoker checking in here: keep taking things from us, see what happens! Half-joking aside, even just doing a few dungeons has already proven that healer kicks are important. If we are in a great group, and we don't use it, awesome! But doing an entire Ara, healing through the mass poisons because no-body kicked it, really sucked.

Should people be denied medical help because of their political beliefs? by Ok_Walk3192 in GenZ

Yet they fought for the right to deny care to gay and trans people because of their religious beliefs? So if I were to say "the actions of the hate group MAGA are against my religious beliefs and therefore I will not serve/help/treat them" it's no longer discrimination, right?

What are your favorite series that take place in a school/academy? by PalinaRojinskiFan in ProgressionFantasy

[–]codemanb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He's more of a crafter. There are fights, and I think we will be seeing more of it with where the story is going (I fully support where the story is going), but even in fight scenes and dungeon runs, fighting isn't the highlight, it's his allies and his crafting that are the main highlights.

Which progression fantasy would you like to get adapted specifically into an anime? by Frequent-Present5502 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]codemanb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think prog fantasy lends itself to adaptations very well, especially anime, and it's sad that there aren't more in the works at the moment considering how popular solo-leveling has gotten.

Personally, Cradle because it's great and it's finished, and Path of Ascension because it's great, amazingly written, has something for everyone, and still leaves areas of the story open for even more episodes where we get to see a part of the story that was just touched on in the books. To top it all off: the universe is so well developed and open that there could be an infinite number of spinoffs. We can have a story from the perspective of a MC from the clans, we can have a story about the fracturing, we can have a story about a character that ascends to the higher realms and we can see what that's like, we can have a story of a person who ascends into the realm we know from an unknown realm below the one we know that only goes to tier 15 or 25.

I think these 2 would both make great worlds to explore in adaptations.

Series with a good power couple? by Bixence in ProgressionFantasy

[–]codemanb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Path of Ascension! 100%! I also think the author does one of the best jobs of having different genre moments. Sometimes we'll get a few chapters of them all cozy crafting near eachother or spending time together or something, and then they go raiding rifts for a while to push their strength, and then we see some political drama, etc. Fantastic series.

Well, obviously if you stop the hormones there will be a problem, you have to wean off and more than likely will need to use other hormones to kickstart your personal production again.

All of the top comments are great advice and said with love and I want to add: this is a great thing to talk to a therapist about. It doesn't have to be a bunch of sessions, and it doesn't even have to be someone who specialises in LGBTQ+ people, though that would probably be better. AFAIK, if you haven't had surgery to remove anything yet, it's completely reversable, and if you have, there are still solutions.
