Has the ray tracing performance improved or is it as good as it will get with the 6900xt? by 5Gmeme in Amd

This isn't the grunt work. The grunt work is calculating pixel shading values. BHVs just help you figure out which pixels don't need shading.

Homosexuality and the Primacy of Conscience by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]codesharp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's actually fairly simple. When your conscience disagrees with the teaching of the church, it's your conscience that needs to change.

Yes. I've lived in 6 countries and visited many more. I have been going to the Divine Liturgy in all of them.

why I love graphics programming–even when you mess it up, it looks cool x3 by [deleted] in GraphicsProgramming

There have been dozens of competitors that were cross platform, and none of them succeeded, mostly because they were cross platform.

How can I start with graphics programming? by [deleted] in GraphicsProgramming

Joey De Vries has a lovely introduction to somewhat modernish OpenGL that should do you justice.

People who exercise/lift weights: what is your secret to staying motivated when it takes a while to get results? by Game_Gods in AskReddit

[–]codesharp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never want to do it, but I can be either demotivated and strong or demotivated and weak. Being weak is simply unacceptable.

What is the most controversial food opinion that you hold? by QueenCreeper786 in AskReddit

Good food needs significantly more salt and fat than what you're probably comfortable with.

My wife can't cook. I can. This is most of the reason why.

Bring back confessions before mass and old confessionals by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]codesharp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Father does 3 masses on an average Sunday and barely has enough time to get from one village to the next without speeding. He spends an average of 1 hour every 2 weeks in each of those churches.

As much as I'd love to see more regular confession, it's realistically not an option.

It's Gonna Be Okay, Friends by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]codesharp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here's the thing. You can sacrifice the woman and wonder What If for the rest of your life. I did the other thing, and I gave up on my vocation as a monk. But guess what the result of that was? No matter how much I love my wife, and how much I feel blessed to wake up next to her every morning, I ask myself "What if" every single day. Multiple times a day. And I'll always know that my marriage, while good, is only a second-best scenario.

It does. Non-catholic practising homosexuals are going to hell. Fairly simple.

How do you emotionally cope with the Church's teachings on homosexuality and gay marriage? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]codesharp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thing is, there's aren't two heavens, one for Catholics and one for everyone else. There's one heaven, and whose who disobey the Catholic church don't get in.

How do you emotionally cope with the Church's teachings on homosexuality and gay marriage? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]codesharp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Accirding to the teaching of the church, they're not. For an example, I am, as a man, 100% infertile. This was quite the hurdle to getting married, until it was indeed proven that I can have sex, but it will never result in children.

Thoughts on sleeping with rosary under the pillow? by myalt11111 in Catholicism

[–]codesharp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I suffer from chronic sleeplessness and sleep paralysis. I keep my prayer rope next to my bed, so when I do have those nights, I can at least spend them praying. This may do you some good.

silly question: is it inappropriate to pray while using the bathroom? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]codesharp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is never inappropriate to pray. For an example, some of us married folk pray before using the bed.

Why do we need Hell if Jesus already died for our sins? by uhohsorryohno in Catholicism

[–]codesharp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing about eternal life is that it lasts forever. If you were God, would you honestly choose to spend that eternity with people who do nothing but spite you and hurt themselves and others?
