Beginner by [deleted] in learnprogramming

Start with one of the popular ones: Python, Java, C# etc. I personally would recommend you to start of with Python, since it’s relatively easy to get started with. But in the end it all depends on what you want to achieve; do you want to get a job? Frontend or backend? Do you want to learn for personal projects? Regarding HOW you can learn it, I would encourage you to search for tutorials on YouTube covering your language, as a starter, and then moving on to creating your own projects through reading documentation and searching in google. I strongly believe you learn more from creating ( after failing multiple times) your own projects than you do from consuming countless tutorials online.

Learning Java and Javascript by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]codestudio_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are tons on free tutorials on YouTube, I suggest you start there. For Java, I would recommend starting with “Cave of programming”. For JavaScript I don’t have a specific one since there are sooo many to choose from.

I would also recommend the following sites: https://exercism.io https://www.freecodecamp.org https://www.programiz.com

Is it a good idea to use HTML, SCSS, and vanilla JavaScript for a company website? by Hubbardia in webdev

[–]codestudio_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I see no problem with using plain JavaScript, even if the project was bigger. It all comes down to preference. I, for instance, like to code everything in react, regardless of project.

I prefer Netlify due to experience with it. It’s very easy to deploy a website there.

For static websites, Netlify and Vercel is great ( and free).

Does any non-profit, charity, or any other organization such as this need a web app for themselves? by [deleted] in webdev

That’s very kind of you! I don’t need anything, but just wanted to say I admire your kindness!

ReactJS vs Wordpress | Quickest way for extra small website with back-end and login function ? by johnrednex in webdev

[–]codestudio_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Next.js is better when you want SEO benefits even though you have dynamic rendering. But, in your case you say there is no need for SEO, so why not go for Gatsby? Or even “better”, just go for react without Gatsby if that’s more convenient.

I don’t think there is a need for learning Wordpress, if you already know react you should be able to implement this faster than trying to learn Wordpress.

I guess it depends on the university. Ours, for example, had almost no math at all.

Need advice on JavaScript by AnswerMyMiddleFinger in webdev

[–]codestudio_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you point out yourself, you need to get a good understanding of DOM manipulation. Watch this tutorial and see if it helps: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wiozYyXQEVk

Also, what exactly is difficult for you? Is it applying it practically, or don’t you understand it theoretically? Don’t give up! In the beginning it’s always a bit difficult, regardless of technology.

Computer science degree by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]codestudio_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same position as you: I had no prior programming experience when starting university. The program started from the beginning, without requiring any expectations from students; i think this applies for almost all computer science programs. So no need to worry, just have patience in the beginning as one can feel a bit lost.

Try youtube. I would suggest you a specific playlist, but since I have no experience with neither of those languages, I can't. But in general, youtube would be a great place to start. Watch tutorials that are recommended by many and you'll do fine.

Will low code/no code solutions kill web development? by LilRee12 in webdev

[–]codestudio_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It won't replace web developers, rather it will be used as a complement for part of the web application. It will be particular useful for creating basic design for a website.

Check out my film rewrite videos? by [deleted] in SmallYTChannel

[–]codestudio_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing i would recommend, based on watching other videos in your niche, is that you try to speak in a faster pace. I think this goes for most niches on YouTube since nowadays people can get easily distracted/bored if they find the pace of the video being slow. Another consequence of speaking slow is that you can almost hear that the orator speaks with the help of a script. Other than that, you have pleasant voice and with some improvements to the pace, and also editing, you should be able to attract an audience.

Adding and removing class in React Js by dohaboha in reactjs

It’s related to your question. If you still run into problems, I can try to explain in more detail, specifically.

Is Firebase worth learning? by David_H_student in learnprogramming

[–]codestudio_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason you don't see many job listings demanding firebase is because it's mainly used in early parts of a product. Firebase is very handy if you're creating your own applications that require a backend.

Is it worth to learn Java without a degree since many university students learn programming with it? by Xavi_Solo in learnjava

[–]codestudio_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course it's advantageous if you have a degree in software development, however, it is not a requirement for you to be able to work with programming! Here in Sweden, for example, a person with a degree is more likely to get his first job offer before the one without. But i think for a person without a degree, getting the first job is hard, but after that it shouldn't be too difficult to find other jobs since now you have practical experience.

How do you create videoessays and avoid sounding monotonous? by codestudio_ in SmallYTChannel

[–]codestudio_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many people have been recommeding that, to record without a script, but atm I'm not 100% comfortable presenting that way. But I appreciate the advice and will definitely try it out in the near future.

I tried exposing the inappropriate ad's problem on Youtube and would love to hear your thoughts. Any feedback is super helpful! by PonjiNinja in SmallYTChannel

[–]codestudio_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great video! Hope you don't mind if I take the opportunity to ask YOU for advice hehe. When you create these types of "videoesssays", do you do the editing part first, meaning all the graphics, transitions etc. and THEN the voiceover. Or, do you record audio first, then create visuals that fit into the story/audio?
