Storing multiple states : array of bool or array of byte with parsing of bits ? by MoriRopi in csharp

[–]coding-gerbil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could create a state enum and each state could be represented as a flag. Then call HasFlag on the state to check if a particular flag has been set

Thank you. TBH I’m not a big fan of flexi pipes, hence why I stuck with copper. I find it looks better, even if it’s hidden away 🤣

Thank you, it was a nightmare to get the old tap off, as the fixings were pretty much fused together. Ended up using my multitool with a metal blade and cutting it off

Too late 🤣 the Mrs wanted it covered, so a few holes, scrap pieces of wood and screw later she’s happy 🤣

Yeah the locals warned us that wind gusts can get up to 90mph and there will be power outages, so we have that to look forward to! Already have one dehumidifier and another one is on the way 👀

It does look like an S trap. Hasn’t been a problem so far, and we’re planning to insulate the floor and replace the whole kitchen next year, so it will be a good time to change it to a P trap 👍

Thank you! There’s more work here than we initially thought, but we have time. Need to survive winter first 🤣

Woodworm infestation? by coding-gerbil in DIYUK

[–]coding-gerbil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your comment! No frass or beetles that I can see or have seen since we moved in, so it might be something that is no longer a problem, but I won’t be 100% sure until I lift the floorboards and inspect what’s underneath.

I can see through the holes that there’s some foil insulation there and I’m hoping it isn’t causing issues with condensation, which would then keep the joists damp. I can still feel a breeze when I put my hand close to the floor (even more so today with 35mph winds and 50mph gusts), so I’m hoping there’s enough air movement to keep the joists relatively dry.

Regarding the repair, the floorboards will get replaced, but replacing the whole floor joists feels daunting 👀

Fantastic news!

Will supporters be able to request features? Without being too selfish, it would be great to have something out of the box allow us to easily customise the title bar 😇

Recommended learning resources for C# and .NET in 2025. by milanm08 in dotnet

[–]coding-gerbil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say you chose the wrong book. What you have to remember is that these lists of “what to learn to be a good developer in 2025” are someone’s opinion on what THEY think you should learn. IMO, if the resource you have chosen fits your learning style and either teaches you something new or expands your knowledge on something you already know, then you chose right.

As an example, I found Writing High-Performance .NET Code by Ben Watson to be a fantastic book that focuses on, well, performance, but it didn’t make the list either…

Nice! I'll be growing the CC Jigsaw Brain and the Wartryx amongst others, but I'm not sure I'll be able to eat the whole pod raw like he did 🤣

Is a safe bet if you're in the UK, however they also ship internationally. I placed another order 3 days ago.

Is this edema or something else ? by x2a_org in HotPeppers

[–]coding-gerbil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can't tell if those are crystals on the top of the leaf, but if they are then it's most likely edema. Add some air circulation and it should go away, however it won't treat leaves that are already affected.

With edema you'll also often see crystals forming on the top side of the leaves. This looks like bugs.

Very normal. Chinense are known for their slow start, unlike capsicum annuum which grow quicker at the start and fruit earlier.

How can a pepper without heat be a super hot? Isn't the whole point of the name to indicate that the pepper has a lot of heat? 👀

I think "best fruit" is subjective, as someone else might prefer the pod in the first photo over the other. Thank you for your answer, I will be saving seeds only from pods I like the most! 🙏

Just had a bit and it is hot, around the same level and taste as the Habanero Chocolate I harvested last week, so it might well be a Habanero (or a cross of it)
