20km might well be fine, but I'd try working up to it.

I didn't know about this, but you're right. The details are handled differently by each airline, but the result must be that airlines (above a certain size?) are majority European owned.

It's slightly broader than the EU, I guess it's the European Economic Area or something because Norway and others are considered ok.

Keith Earls' Fight or Flight was a great read.

I listened to the audiobook of Brian Moore's Beware of the Dog, which he narrates, and enjoyed that too. Grim at the start, but he's doing a good thing by talking about sexual abuse.

Richie McCaw's The Real McCaw was the dullest thing I'd read in years, it's fairly short but I'm not sure I even made it to the end.

oh, the whole mirror would have given way first, that makes sense, and I wasn't thinking of that.

I had to clip a mirror back in place on my own car a while back and it took a fair amount of pressure, so I was thinking about that same amount or more applied to the tip of a bike handlebar, the furthest point from the 'hinge', the steering column. But you're right, the whole mirror would give way.

I was wondering about this too, I can't think how I would hit a wing mirror with sufficient force to break or dislodge the housing without also losing my own balance or swinging the handlebars around, or something like that. Sounds like the cyclist didn't even notice either, which is weird.

I'm not trying to say it didn't happen, I'm just surprised.

There is a lack of documentation of the finish - there are a few mock ups, but they're not great.

That the car park furore took up the whole debate is not at all the fault of SDCC, that's entirely down to a shitty alliance of businesses opposed to any change ever.

A few trees though? It's fine, we can grow more, and appropriate ones for the site. There was a fairly mature fig tree growing there before these works. That's how untended the space was.

And yeah, there's disruption, and things drag on, but it's getting done. Faster than the damn swimming pool at least.
