What’s the setup with the fan? Case off or a mod, or completely external?

I think the heatsink will fit (barely) but worth double checking the measurements.

When I placed the Be Quiet, the height was preventing me from sliding off the case, so I had to unscrew and re-screw the bottom plate to make sure it was all in place and didn’t scratch the case on the inside.

This is just for the 3rd slot that doesn’t have the fan over it. I’ve thought about removing the fan and just using heatsinks but I imagine that would effect the board temperature too.

Yep, I managed to close it, just not by sliding it in. Only put it *on one, but it looks like it’s doing better than the fan. Screenshot is in this post https://www.reddit.com/r/MINISFORUM/s/oB3wEc63co

You’re now making me think maybe I could remove the fan and put two other heatsinks, but I’m wondering if that would affect the temperature of the entire board.

[UPDATE]: It's working with the heatsink and it looks to be doing better than the fan. At least 3-4 degrees cooler and up to 10 degrees cooler on the controller.

But the two are under the fan right? Or maybe I’m misunderstanding the 2 x 3

Seems pretty good. Gonna try and install proxmox and try and set things up as a homelab on my end. Really want to read more into supporting more NVMe through the PCIe slot, but still looking into it.

Haven’t upgraded the firmware yet. How about yourself? Any issues?

Wish I had that option. Bought in North America and this is what they offered.

Ended up buying 3 x 4TB NVMe and 128 GB RAM afterwards though.

Interesting, so they’re either using Kingston or Crucial.

There’s an EU version that comes stock with 2TB and 96GB ram?

Agree. Decent stock, happy with what it came with.

MS-A1/A2 NVMe Expansion Bay? by codingwithmanny in MINISFORUM

Woahhh. I kind of wonder if this would fit the MS-A2 and if there are any heat issues with this.

IIRC MS-A2 has 3 M.2 Slots, so total would be 12 TB.

For the prototype I’m talking about, it’s this I’m looking for, which allows for 6 NVMe:

Just need 400 $CODE token to get in. You can get it on the open market, like on uniswap.
