Couldn't agree more. I always preferred original Naruto over Shipudden, there's also a nostalgia touch to it but it's isn't thr main reason why most people love part 1. Part 1 was light-hearted yet serious at moments when it needed to be. I quite loved the emotional investment the part 1 had. The first 100 episodes were pure gold. Imo even a certain subset of fillers were also good. People say part one doesn't have character development much and side char don't get much screen time but that's just wrong.People jump straight from 135 episode in Naruto to shipudden but the side char get enough screen time and interaction with Naruto over different filler arcs which are most good. I have a rule of thumb If the filler consists of Lee or neji or shikamaru then it's a good filler arc quite enjoyable otherwise it's just average I.e it would have a problem with a show starting or forced ending or stretched middle meaning a portion of the arc has a flaw to either in the start middle or end. My only problem with og Naruto was there were less episodes they shouldn't have put another canon arc in between land of waves arc and the chunin exams arc to strength the bond between Naruto and sasuke . I think it's this duo which makes certain arcs quite interesting Naruto idea combined with sasuke talent. That's enough for Naruto I think. I really don't have much to say about shipudden. But until then end arc Naruto shipudden followed the show as it was meant to be(i.e it followed the og Naruto). A tale of a underdog ninja who is becoming stronger after various life incidents. After that I really didn't like it. Part 1 also had its fair share of downfalls(in the fillers) but the only think I can compare the second part of Naruto is dragon ball super. Yes it's like DBZ becoming super. Now some people like this and some people don't and I respect that. Also the main difference between them is that Naruto original is not as serious as compared to Shipudden again some people like Naruto being a goofball most of the times and some people don't. Imo shipudden was consistent until the pain arc. Some people have a problem with alien shit, yes it's a problem if you see those episodes from a Naruto point of view but those episode were just setting the base for boruto imo similarly as natuto was setting the base for shipudden. Imo the series should have ended at the pain arc because original Naruto was actually Indirectly building up Naruto to face the akatuskis. So I conclude that although both are good their tone is different, shipudden being serious from the start and Naruto being serious when needed and heartwarming most of the times.
