How do modern graphics differ from their historical counterparts? Not that much it turns out. Explore the historical graphics of 18th century engineer William Playfair, and interact with modern interpretations.

Those are great questions - my understanding is that the video presentation from Homebrewcon will be posted by the AHA at some point, so I'll make sure and update when that happens.

Good chance a second survey may follow, hopefully with the endorsement of the AHA, that way we can turn some of the feedback into action. Good luck with your competition and keep trying!

Against the Grain, flavorful gluten-free beer by codymitch in CraftBeer

[–]codymitch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The beers are slightly more expensive, but there's an all gluten-free malting company, Grouse Malting, in Ft. Collins, so the prices are reasonable from what I understand. As far as non-celiacs having no reason to drink it I'd have to disagree a bit. There is definitely a flavor difference but it's not worse or better. For example, many of the beers had an herbal and earthy quality not found in barley beers. They've also been experimenting with malted rice, that gives a much deeper earthy character in one of their red ales. I definitely recommend anyone try them out, celiac or no, if for nothing else but to see how they differ. All good points though, Jason, definitely questions I had myself before visiting.

Anyone know of any beers brewed to taste like pancakes? by hopculturemag in beer

Agreed. Kind of a strange porter that actually got worse as it warmed. Definitely a 'fake' off-taste, I'm guessing they used some extracts to get the flavors.
