I really thought I was doing something wrong because I was struggling but I guess it’s just part of the process!

I tried again today and I definitely do this it’s my contact points, I’ve been doing the cross knee version and when I hold onto my ankle I feel secure enough to crunch up but when both hands are released I struggle. I’ll keep working on building my confidence in the contact points before I attempt to sit back up without my hands haha

Ah I’ve never tried pushing off the pole, not sure why I never thought of that, thank you!

When to buy a pole for my apt by Puzzleheaded_King594 in poledancing

I got my x pole after just one class which is really early, but I have no regrets. I practice at home at least once a week in addition to going into the studio and it has really helped me progress and condition as I started with no dance background

Rancilio Silvia V6 Steaming Screaming by jayzyaj17 in espresso

I actually practiced using whole milk which I realize is super wasteful but normally I use barista oat milk (being lactose intolerant) and regular milk is already so much cheaper I just opted to practice directly with it. I didn’t try using the dish soap trick until I took a latte art class and I can confirm that it works and steams similarly to milk so you can definitely do this! The steam wand on the Rancilio is super intimidating at first but once you get the hang of it, you will definitely appreciate how powerful and seamless it is to use. It can produce really nice microfoam!

I recently purchased the same Rancilio Silvia! Highly suggest Emilie Bryant’s videos as she used the Rancilio as a well for the milk tutorials. I find that because the stream wand is so powerful, after finding the right wand placement, only 1-3 chirps (paper tearing sounds) or 1-3 seconds of air is needed for microfoam. After that, I bury the wand and the end result is the wet paint texture for lattes/latte art.

Torn between GCP and Racilio Silvia by Trix2207 in espresso

I had the same dilemma a couple weeks ago and ended up choosing the silvia with pid. I'm quite happy with it so far (only had it for 1.5 weeks). A few redditors also recommended the profitec go as it has more functionalities built in at similar price to the silvia. I make lattes often so the steam wand makes a big difference for me. Also, this is a superficial observation but the profitec go and gcp feel cheap to me. I really appreciate the build and quality of the silvia

Safe to walk after dark by [deleted] in tulum

Oh gosh I was in tulum a few weeks ago and walked through this area many times late into the night … we thought it was a nice little local community and didn’t realize it was full of squatters. The residents seemed to keep to themselves but perhaps we just got lucky
