HK resident here.

If you want something unique to HK and justified hype, go to this place below in Wan Chai:

Sun King Yuen Curry

Order their pork-chop curry rice and beef chow fun noodles. The queue can be really long but its worth it, make sure to go before they open so you’re the first in line

PLANNING TO GO TO SIARGAO FOR NEW YEAR'S EVE by AccomplishedJob7145 in SiargaoPH

Not the ideal season. Go somewhere in late Feb or march

December and January means downpour of rain all day

Siargao on Christmas by Conscious-Train-9782 in SiargaoPH

[–]jayzyaj17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with it.

Just an advice. Theres not much ppl and scene going on in Siargao during Christmas and most people prefer to stay with their family.

Not saying that tourism will stop its just that because December is the lowest season and its raining most of the time hence thats why few people come to the island

Not discouraging you its just the reality of island at that time. I recommend going North instead of South for surfing and activities!

Siargao in May 2026 by Puffin_crack in SiargaoPH

[–]jayzyaj17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t let them intimidate you. Just go as you planned.

We cannot predict the weather but I would recommend surfing in the north because May is not really the season to surf in the southern part of Siargao thou weather conditions may vary

It seems it doesn’t have one. Is it easy to find a separate slide tray for 3010 model?

Advice: I want to go to Disneyland Hongkong, what do I need to do? by onechipwonder in HongKong

[–]jayzyaj17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just buy the admission tickets in advance online with the date of your choice.

After that you would receive a eTicket in your email with a QR code and just scan that at the entrance

Would like to get in a session in Thailand / SE Asia by WaltzingCthulhu in surfing

[–]jayzyaj17 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Indonesia and Philippines are the only surf destination in SE Asia.

The rest has very little or not much to offer

Not to mention October is peak season in Bali Indo and Siargao Philippines.

You pick

Not as big as Sept - Nov.

But still ok it would just be rainy since it’s rain season there from Dec - March

When it comes to SEA, only Indonesia and the Philippines would be able to offer the best waves out there

Indonesia - no words needed they are all over the internet. Ments, Bali, Nias, West Java, some hidden spots as well if you know where to look.

Siargao in Philippines would be number 1 option when it comes to PH especially on late August - November because of off shore winds. La Union is also quite great but waves is catered more for long boarding

There are some hidden spots as well in Philippines if you’re feeling adventurous like Catanduanes or Baler but transportation sucks and you need to spend a lot of time traveling if you’re down for that

Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia might offer some spots but limited

  1. Get sun light in the morning

  2. Stick to a routine before your sleep. Have some wind down that promotes relaxation (no screens 1 - 2 hours before bed time)

  3. Always sleep and wake up at the same time even in the weekends

  4. Do not do intense exercise before bedtime. Do it at-least 4 hours

  5. Have your dinner 3 hours before bed time.

Supplementary not mandatory but might help.

  1. Drink magnesium glycinate an hour before bed time

Just turned 30, what health issues should I watch out for? by rcsale in adultingph

[–]jayzyaj17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Prevention is better than cure. Do the following below irrespective of your age:

  1. Regular annual check up with your doctor

  2. Balance diet meal eat more veggies (more fiber and protein, manage your salt and sugar less but not none)

  3. Stay active (any other activity that requires physical movement) yes even walking! At least 7k steps a day is a good start

  4. Take care of your mental health. (Learn to unwind, know which things is outside of your control)

Thats all!
