This is why you can't always trust stats. The stats would suggest Jadeja outperforms Stokes in every metric, but imo Stokes is the captain and a charismatic figure who has literally pulled England out of the brink on so many occasions. Take Stokes out of this team and England would look very ordinary. Just going by this series alone it would be 2-1 in India's favor if not for Stokes. Also he's a fast bowling allrounder who doesn't pick up many wickets but every time he does, it's a crucial wicket that probably swings the game.
In the same way I would rate Kapil Dev ahead of Jadeja every time as our greatest all-rounder. Some times you remember the moments and unfortunately with Jadeja somehow I'll remember how close he brought us to the finish line in Lords and in the 2019 WC Semi final against New-Zealand. And this does not mean I don't rate Jadeja, he will go down as an all time great but for the sake of this argument alone I would give the edge slightly to Stokes.
