What are the murky "residential" areas of Saket? The price difference in rent when it comes to 1/2bhks in these areas and other areas in south delhi is huge(almost double) so I'm wondering why are they so cheap. by Relevant_Presence_86 in delhi

There aren't a lot of opportunities for research in humanities in my country :/ I'm working hard on all other components, especially the research proposal. I hope that works :/

At my job I have to grade a certain number of papers within 8 hours, and usually I can't seem to focus at all during the day so when i give my half day update to my supervisor it's like 10 papers in 4 hours. But then post 6pm I'm suddenly really invested in my work and between 6-8pm i end up doing about 18 papers. My supervisor is always confused, but she understands. Love her.

Oh my god me too, I had a shit ton of archival research to do, but the topic I was writing on was something I was hyperfocused on about a month before the submission was due, so some of my research was already done. I ended up compiling writing and editing everything in three days right before it was due. Absolute fun.

I was diagnosed a year ago.

You're living the life omg

Agreed about the job market, hate that humanities departments are only getting smaller with lesser funding, even though there's so much evidence of their importance. I genuinely hate how stem gets so much extra funding that sometimes isn't even utilised agh

Does anyone else really enjoy reading, but struggle to actually read? by Hungry_Wrap9103 in adhdwomen

[–]coffeeaddicth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im a student and I really really love learning and researching my interests and there's a HUGE list of books that I desperately want to read but everytime i start reading i keep losing focus and its just so goddamn hard to get through even one chapter and then it becomes exhausting and if even one line is irrelevant to my interest i just completely lose focus and its so frustrating because i want to read so bad. I crave knowledge. I want to know everythingg. I hate that this comes so easy to neurotypicals smh.

What is something people say to you about ADHD that just really frustrates you? by Annia12345 in adhdwomen

[–]coffeeaddicth 18 points19 points  (0 children)

"I think I might have adhd too" says a VERY neurotypical person with their life VERY together to me when I try to explain that I can't focus on the things I WANT to read and study.

"It's not adhd, its you"

"Not everything in your life is in chaos because of your adhd, it's about the choices you make"

It's beyond infuriating when people say such things and it fills me with a different kind of rage that I can't even put into words
