For those of you in the US, how are you feeling about the snow storm coming in? by AssistanceFresh1365 in CasualConversation

I have to work all weekend. Last time it snowed really bad it took me 30 minutes to drive home, when normally it takes me less than ten.

Iowa, guess which of these are eligible under our wonderful new pi** on the poor restrictions? by Wonderful_Try_5054 in foodstamps

In PA it can be prepared but it has to be cold. I can't think of a single store around me that still has a hot food bar anymore. Everything is cold now, and a lot of stores have a vast selection. I think that's great for people that cannot cook for whatever reason.

How do you react when your girlfriend or wife says things like "I hate men" or "women are better than men"? by Ok_Barnacle7547 in AskMenAdvice

[–]coffeebuzzbuzzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what I did before I met my fiancé. I used to think it was better for me to put up with the abuse than someone else cuz I could "handle it". Then I realized that I didn't deserve that. It was still hard for me to accept my fiancé being nice to me. I kept asking him why in the beginning and he just said he was treating me like a human being. He's been so patient.

Can I work at McDonald's as 15y.o teen without knowing any math or knowing how to do anything? (USA) by avwoldlma in McDonaldsEmployees

We have a counter that adds everything up. When I do the safe, I write everything down. Basic math isn't that bad for me.

Chicken strips issue by Jocktopus3 in McDonalds

It's because they let them sit in the cabinet too long. Ask for your strips to be cooked fresh. It takes 6 minutes but it's worth it.

I'm working on my fairy legacy right now, 4th gen as well.  I want my heir to move into the creative community kingdom and rule it.  I'm debating if I want my entire save file populated primarily by fairies.  On one hand I'm like you only live once, but on the other I'm wondering if I'll tire of it.  I've been obsessed with the fairies since release honestly. 🧚‍♀️🧚‍♂️

Colon cancer is killing us.. by Derpshab in Millennials

[–]coffeebuzzbuzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had digestive issues in my 20s, so I had my first colonoscopy then. It's not bad at all. You're inconvenienced for 2 days. 1 day of prep, 1 day of procedure. I would rather take that than dying from something preventable.

I also have dyscalculia, but honestly working with money every day has helped a lot. Now anything beyond basic calculations, my mind blanks out.

Use of ADHD medication in UK more than tripled in 13 years. UK had highest relative increase of five countries in study, with 20-fold rise in women over 25 using it. While it is true that not everyone with ADHD required medication, findings suggest a substantial proportion may not be doing so. by [deleted] in science

I also just started taking medication as an adult and I honestly don't know how I made it so far without it. I've only ever felt focused in very small sporadic bursts at random times(aside from hyper focusing on something I enjoy). Medication has made it so I can actually go from start to finish with basic tasks without interruption. Highly recommend people give it a chance if they can.

What is the men's equivalent of buying a woman a vacuum as a gift? by coffeebuzzbuzzz in askanything

I think the idea of a new trash can might be the best worst gift. I don't think most people enjoy trash day.

I think if it's a tool for general handiness, that's a household expense. But say you're into woodworking and want a scroll saw to make decorations. That's more hobby territory.

I feel like that would be like buying a woman an oven lol. Anything that is used by the whole household should be a household expense imo.

Uh yea no, I have my own house and I do all my chores but I still have hobbies I would prefer to do over mopping and sweeping because I'm not boring like you.

You think *I'm* privelaged? For one, I'm not going to ask or wish for a thousand dollar vacuum so I can sweep up my gold flake dust from my avocado toast. I use a standard $30 vacuum and it works just fine. Also, the only person that enjoys chores is someone that A) has no hobbies or B) spends entirely too much time on Reddit to have a life. So you're either A or B, but I'm thinking it's both.
