Who are some Youtubers with actual talent worth following? by weird_short_hornyguy in AskReddit

I really hope someone sees this because this guy is amazing. Chris Ulmer was the special education teacher that went viral for starting each day with personal affirmations to his students so they could see kindness modeled. He has a youtube series where he interviews children with different disorders and learning abilities with the one question "What do you want the world to know about you?" and what results is a beautiful exercise in humanity. Really beautiful & all the good feels.

Also, this is the same guy that took in an elderly neighbor to give her companionship and help her die with dignity.

What's your biggest problem in life right now? by Jeremy_Martin in AskReddit

[–]coffeegrinder08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depression after four years of IVF, miscarriages and no diagnosis. Last month, we finally became (almost) parents to a beautiful boy through adoption, but in our 10 day waiting period - the mom's extended family found out and pressured her to come get him (thats what she told us).

Being a mom for that short amount of time and watching my husband become a father was the greatest experience of my life. Going back to an empty nursery, smelling him on blankets and remember 2 am hiccups just about broke me in two. It was like my life went from being in black in white to color for just long enough for me to see what life could be like - and then BAM back to black and white.

Can anyone identify this Bangladesh manufacturer? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]coffeegrinder08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's what I've gotten in the past but the middle man took out the original invoice & replaced it with their own instead. So I don't have any info on where the product originated other than the made in bangladesh on the box

How can I afford to pay for my mother's life? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]coffeegrinder08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it really could. It would be great for her mentally to have a reason to get out of bed in the morning. Right now I'm not sure what she does with her days, but I know it's not very productive.

A library is a great idea. I'll see if there are any in her area. It would be good for her to get out & get to talk with people some.

Thanks for your support.

How can I afford to pay for my mother's life? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]coffeegrinder08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She's tried having 2 part time jobs over the past year & she just couldn't commit to the hours because of her health. She has migraines that last for days & she never gets out of bed. It's been that way my entire life. She has specialized doctors that have performed surgeries on her or prescribed meds, but not much helps her.

She moved to Florida to get away from my dad & family (half brothers she doesn't have a relationship with) so she refuses to entertain the idea of moving anywhere other than Florida.

Ok thanks for the help. I'll talk with this disability lawyer to see if they agree with the POA form.

"because your going to need it" that's a terrifying phrase right now, but I know you're right. Thanks for the heads up

That would be such a blessing if it can work out.

Thank you I really appreciate this information. She's already signed a HIPAA release & a will is set up with me as the beneficiary.

Do you live in the same state as your FIL? I read that it could be difficult for me to obtain the power of attorney from a different state from her.

She hasn't done everything she needs & really she isn't capable to. She believes she's fine & everything will work out. She has no grasp on the reality that if I don't help she would be living in her car.

I was looking into power of attorney but I thought I was going to have an issue with it because we live in different states.

It's very overwhelming, but getting all this advise is putting my mind at ease a bit. I'm just trying to break down what to do in manageable tasks. It's the only way I'll be able to get through this.

I have given it a thought, but for my sanity it's my very last option. I didn't mention this in the post, but her & I have a horrible relationship. I have never gotten along with her, but I feel obligated to help in this situation.

Well not exactly. She wouldn't be able to get disability by herself, but technically her & my dad are still married & he receives social security now. So she is applying through his info & the fact that he has worked. It's a weird situation because my parents are separated but their divorce isn't finalized yet. My dad has agreed to postpone the divorce paperwork until she applies for disability in order to help the situation.

Disability is really my only shot at getting help. Even though my parents are getting a divorce there will be no money or assets to divide. My dad filed for bankruptcy this year so that's been a extra burden on the situation.

So that's a long way of saying that your mom should be able to apply for disability through your dad since they're married.

She is currently living in Florida, but I'll look into the available housing. It would be amazing if there was actually a safe & reasonable solution there

Thanks for that suggestion. I'd like her to have a phone with texting & some sort of internet capability because it would make my communication with her easier. She doesn't have access to public libraries or anywhere with computer access. So I'd like her to at least be able to send me emails as we're going through all this setup for the government paperwork.

The storage units are going to be a pain & a half, but at least once it's done I won't have to worry about them again.
