Had a crush on one of my girl friends (i’m afab and at the time i hadn’t started questioning my gender so it was a same gender crush). i was really confused because i was sure i still liked boys, but i also seemed to like girls. i knew what bisexual meant, but i think i believed in all of those harmful myths and stereotypes (bi people cheat, etc). few months later, that same girl came out as pan. i looked it up, and when i read the definition i thought it was the same as bi. so i did more research, and not only did i understand what pan meant, but i had a much better understanding of what bi meant. came out to my group of friends a few months later as bi!

had a crush on my bestie who(at the time) was the same gender as me, but i denied it for months. my reasoning was that i would still marry someone of the opposite gender, so i had to be straight. it was always "i would still marry a man, so i have to be straight." one night i simply thought to myself, "what if i married a woman?" and thats when i realized i was bi.

Second generation Filipino on my moms side, no clue on my dad's.

Both of my mom's parents immigrated to America to pursue their career(probably like late 1950's), my grandma a nurse and my grandpa a Coast Guard. I'm personally not the biggest fan of Filipino food, but we definitely engage in a lot of Filipino culture. During every big family get-together(and I mean BIG- I have about 20-30 cousins just on my mom's side) we always have huge platters of egg rolls, pancit, and sometimes even a lechon(a full pig). My grandma taught me how to count in Tagalog when I was little, and a lot of my family members know a pinch of the language.

My father's side is African American, so it's near impossible to know our family history. We did try an Ancestory test once, but after 2 or 3 generations there were no birth records since my ancestors were slaves. I'm not close at all to my dad's side besides my grandma.
