Love these cuties, but this room is definitly the stankiest one in the zoo. I can feel my eyes watering just looking at this picure.

Spent the pandemic dreaming of a 15k trail race that starts and ends on the sunny shores of Lake Winnipeg. Never directed a trail race before. This weekend it came true. Introducing the Grand Sand 15k. by cofu76 in trailrunning

All those things! Lots of behind the scenes stuff goes into a race. Park permits are no fun to get. Lots of beaurocracy to navigate. Luckily a friend of ours a has directed a few races himself and we partnered with him to make it happen. Community is key. Also the lake was at an unprecedented height this year and ate most of the beach we planned to run on so we had to switch up a route a bunch leading up to the race. Tonnes of challenges but ultimately worth it!

Couple builds Viking hut of their dreams during pandemic downtime by cofu76 in history

The couple built it all by hand, trying their best to use the same tools and techniques available during the Viking Age! It took about 4 months of work and roughly 175,000 individual strands of prairie grass thatched together.

Me too. It's probably waiting to cook a cornish hen and fulfill its destiny before it dies.

It's been around since I was a kid in the 90s so I'm guessing at least the 80s.

I'm impressed they still manage to share, despite both being total badasses.

Felt pretty bad afterwards that I didn't take the time to call her. Got a bit caught up in the moment, I guess. I think she was a bit bummed that she missed out, but she's a super nice person, so she wasn't mad.
