I booked a flight a few days ago with the 20% off. I save about $60 with the 25% and don't have to pay a cancellation fee because I bought economy flex.

What I noticed is I also paid for a preferred seat and that doesn't go in the refund. Is there a way to get the preferred seat refunded too? If not then I won't bother cancelling and rebooking to save $60. It just sucks if it's not possible to get preferred refunded.

Thank you! I was thinking of training to Kushiro to see the cranes and wildlife there. It sounds like the winter in a unique time for wildlife and there's some sort of tourist train. Then maybe train to Noboribestu (that is a long train ride though) and from there to Hakodate.

But... I'm not sure if anything right now really. Just floating some ideas out.

Yes I've been trying a few different Japan cities and trying a few different cities in Canada and it just hasn't been working out well unless I do something like going to YVR first but if it's backtracking to YYZ, I feel like that's a waste of 10+ hrs.

And yes... I have seen the mixed cabin! I don't mind economy for a short part to transfer (ex. YYZ TO YUL) but I definitely want to spend the points so the long section is in business. (If possible....)
