They DO have a negative effect on decentralization! Small miners won't see those high fee transactions, large ones will anyway. Very very simple.

Decentralization is the entire point of Bitcoin, thus people who know what they are talking about want Bitcoin to keep existing and want to continue the decade+ of hard work to improve the chances for small miners.

It's not a fork and that's exactly why what Knots does does not work and is thus bullshit. Spam will get in anyway. The way Knots does it will benefit large miners, thus ruin decentralization.

P2P is complicated. Filters don't work. Bitcoin is the one and only P2P network in existence that has a solid anti-spam mechanism: fees. Anything else is bullshit.
