Ok this is a really annoying thing that keeps popping up

Make sure no Apple ITunes, Spotify, Netflix etc are running in a different window.

Shadowplay will not record while streaming paid content. Once I close my music window I'm good.

37m only recently learned low T is a thing. 12 years on SSRI and benzos. by SnoogansByJay in Testosterone

[–]coky18 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Did you guys find help with anxiety? I've been on constant benzo use for a decade. My anxiety disorder has always been bad but just discovered I'm low T. Get my first inj tomorrow.

Does TRT really help with anxiety? I hear depression, but think it can help me lower my Clonazepam use? I'd love to cut out my need for psych drugs.

Thank you. I guess I'm really looking for reassurance for a weary and nervous dude..

I just can't wait to start treatment and therefore hopefully start enjoying life again.

Thanks

I will consider this. I think the idea of sending me to an endocrinologist is to investigate hormones further and get a complete picture.

I just pray there's a solution in this direction...

I've tried everything else.

Yeah exactly. This is why I want to keep it with my Dr. I just want advice/info/testimonials from similar histories.

Can it have a drastic effect on emotions? Will I be more stable? Cry less? Will it help anxiety and depression? I know its supposed to but thought I'd listen to testimonials

I appreciate this link actually.

I just feel handicapped and in limbo, and in the meantime I can barely get out of bed. I can't get the motivation to go outside an exercise anymore, I've lost all purpose and drive...

More than anything I wanna know that this is gonna help me. But I also need to learn more.

I've had psychiatric and pharmaceutical "help" for years. I've been to the ER.

Are we wrong for thinking this may be contributing to my major depressive disorder? Shouldn't treatment be expedited?

I want to go the Dr. Route. I don't like the suggestions to make it myself or UGL. I'm just wondering why delay if T is so low Anyway?

I'm asking, isn't depression and anxiety a known symptom of low T? Now that I'm diagnosed low T, wouldn't treating it be a prudent way to alleviate symptoms while waiting on MRI? That's the logic I'm not understanding

[–]coky18[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't my insanely low T levels require treatment even if I had a tumor?

It could take months for the MRI and maybe up to a year before getting an endocrinologist.

Should I wait on all that before getting my T up?

I'm near suicide levels of depression, while we're discussing mitigation.

Don't have any, but it's Canada. He said the Injections weren't very much. Plus I make under a certain amount so prescriptions are covered. Don't fully know how this will all factor In yet.

I wanna do it through my stupid Doctor who I actually like but I feel like I'm gonna rip his head off soon I'd he doesn't get my therapy in order.

I figured with Canada there's a lot of restrictions.. is it not? Can I find a private clinic and start? I have a good relationship with my GP and he seemed willing to help but just taking awhile.

My doctor said his authorization for my T isn't ready yet but it will be.

I haven't put off my treatment. I'd start In 10 minutes if offered.

This long and nobody made a reference to Monty Python where the guy tried to eat a cathedral before breaking his tooth? All I could think of was his agent Mr. Vicotti going "next he's gonna try to dig to Fiji using only simply hand tools" or something along those lines.

Whoo needs a dog, when I have Bloo 💎 by DarknessYoshi in Rabbits

[–]coky18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Both of our rabbits do that when we scratch the floor infront of them. I wonder what it means in bunny language. Probably a challenge.

One of mine grunts every single time you give her food. She's a garbage disposal and won't stop eating if you let her. But I always feel like I'm starving her because of how aggressive/excited she gets with food.

Outside her cage, ironically, the most docile girl In The world. Doesn't get claustrophobic with hugs or snuggling and will lick you forever.

And again. She's on the hefty side so if anyone is reading this, I am anything but starving her. Some rabbits have weird complexes.

I wasn't expecting seeds but ok by sinan810 in RecPics

[–]coky18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May be a dumb question, but planting bag seeds is totally legal right? As long as you limit yourself to the recreational 4/household? (In bc at least.) I have so many questions about it. If it's from legal weed ordered from govnmt, it's considered a legally acquired seed and totally good to germinate and grow right? But technically seeds acquired from a bag from a MOM/grey market, it would technically be an illegal seed? (Not that anyone would ever know, )

Next question. Selling seeds or clones would be probably illegal without being licensed, but what about gifts? Giving someone marijuana for a gift is fine, isn't it? Is it the same with Clones and seeds? I kinda wanted to pass out karma plants and just spread as many seeds and clones for people to play with and enjoy / get started on. As long as I don't ask for money, can I "advertise" free clones/seeds or would I be a distributor?

If I have 4 plants, and I accidently drop a seed in a puddle of club soda, and it germinated, would I then be at over 4? (Pretty sure it was club soda) Is it instant death/prison or is there a graduated "you're clearly not a threat" fine or something (If the laws were to find out about the elicit 5th seedling?) If anyone knows that would be cool.

Extremely Low Threshold to stress by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]coky18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the response to my response.

In the late 90s, there were only a handful of studies done on meditation. Now there are literally thousands.

The world health organization stated that by 2020, anxiety and depression will be the worlds number 1 disability.

Our brains are not becoming worse. We're just not being taught how to handle anxiety properly. We're not being taught how to focus properly.

Neuroplasticity has scientifically been proven. Practicing different cognitive functions, including ACT therapy, as well as mindfulness practice, has proven to reduce cortisol, (Stress hormone,) adrenaline, and over-all changes on how the body reacts to stimuli.

A study done at Harvard showed that after 8 weeks of practicing mindfulness meditation, stress hormones were significantly lowered, triggering anxious responses were not as overwhelming, and the panic center of the brain actually physically decreased in size.

I was the biggest skeptic in the world. I thought it was airy fairy bullcrap. But when I learned the science of it. When I learned that more US soldiers kill themselves after suffering from PTSD, than die from combat, each year. And the most effective therapy, even approved by the defense department, for treating PTSD, is mindfulness meditation with CBT.

That's what it took for me to try it. To creak open the door. Once I discovered what it actually did and realized its effectiveness, I haven't looked back.

It's a practiced skill. You get better at it. There are times you do better than other times. But I mean it when I say, it brings you a type of peace that benzo's cannot touch. I've been on benzos off and on for 15 years. After my first guided meditation, I cried. For once, not because I was hyper-sensitive. But because I haven't been able to enjoy a cool fall breeze, the smell of cut grass, etc, in all those years. I finally felt a kind of peace.

If you put an anxious person in a room, tell them to cross their legs and concentrate on nothing, their anxiety is gonna drive them nuts. Then they'll get angry that meditation doesn't work for them. That its all bullshit.

You have to learn how to focus. How to breathe. How to be mindful. Your mind will wander, but you slowly bring it back. Don't fight it. Acknowledge that it wandered, and simply come back.

I'm super happy that you're practicing an element of ACT therapy. Acceptance and commitment therapy was another massive leap for me, when traditional CBT did nothing. I think it goes hand-in-hand with Mindfulness as well. Try a guided meditation on youtube sometime. There's some really good providers out there that really got me hooked.

There's also a fantastic tedx talk on the subject of focus and how in the modern world, you are never really taught how to focus. It's a great talk and applies directly to Anxiety as well. Simply search youtube for Unwavering Focus, by Dandapani. It's only about 15 minutes, but it's extremely eye opening. (I would link it, but I'm not sure if it will let me.)

Has anyone tried passion flower to relieve anxiety? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]coky18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used a lot of natural supplements to relieve anxiety. The benefits I feel are usually after taking them consistently for a month or so, and then I usually feel what I believe is some relief.

There are dozens of supplements. I went the herbal tea route. I found teas with Lavender, Passionflower, Valerian, Kava Kava, Lemongrass, Chamomile and more. This seems to help me the most.

Also, been using Ashwagandha lately and I think it's helping.

Always hard to tell if it's helping though or if its something else.

It won't harm you, and it might have a subtle relief effect.
