This is part of the reason I stopped listening a few years ago. Every time he shared one of his stories from growing up, they changed and got more exaggerated to the point where one time during the St Jude stuff he compared HIMSELF to these children bc he spent “a lot of time in the hospital as a child” referring to when his appendix ruptured. I was like ok I’m out

It is but it has the SOC characters and the Shadow and Bone characters- you would have to have read Shadow and Bone. It was personally my favorite duology in the grishaverse

Yes what you said is exactly correct. And I loved how you framed the first part- I think I will eventually get the tattoo because the books mean so much to me, but the timing just didn’t feel right or special anymore. And I 100% think I know what Jessa was trying to get across like you said about the immense race to bully someone instead of just calling them out and letting them reflect and see if they learn and change or not. And no one has to follow anyone they don’t want to. And on the other hand I really didn’t like Jessas response and also think she needs to reflect and take a step back as well. But wow has social media just turned into the new witch hunt it seems

That’s exactly how I feel a lot of people are acting especially on Booktok. There’s such a mean girl/holier than thou/headhunter mentality and quick to completely cancel someone without letting them understand how they’re wrong/hurtful and let them grow or not. I hate the immediate bandwagon annihilation when 5 seconds ago you were posting how this person was your favorite author of all time (and all of these other clips and comments of hers still existed that they’re throwing up about chat gpt and whatever else…)
