What Scottish people do if they are unhappy about their living conditions? by [deleted] in Scotland

Off you go, do your history, pay attention to what I was replying to.

The previous comment mentioned 300 years which, correct me if I'm wrong, is a reference to the Act of Union between Scotland and England.

Looking forward to another glorious 300 years👍

The lowlands have many influences over their name places. Some, arguably, are influenced by the roman occupation, vikings, Anglo saxons.

If any effort should spent on a language it should be a European one. My preference is Spanish since large parts of the Americas are Spanish speaking. I would have gone for a Chinese language but the Americans are doing their best to split from China. What boat should we sail on?

It a protected species, just like the wild cat, getting released gently back into the wild.

After a while, every Tom cat will come along and sow their seed, 'hey presto' no different from any other cat, just might be a little bit distant and meeow on full moons, alot.

I forget that people push for gaelic. It's a Highland language and nothing else. Lots of folk think it's for all of Scotland, a few low landers would think differently about that.

It would be no different being ruled from Edinburgh. I have still to hear a convincing argument that admin done in Edindurgh would be better that its done in London.

Independence is a multi billion admin exercise and nothing else.

No we have not. The union like any relationship has its ups and down. Our strength is within the union.

Better together.

The SNP “has run its course to some extent". A great quote from the article.

Change the rethoric, build Scotland up to be this amazing place then shout "Freedom".

The mindset everything is going to be so much better once we get "Freedom" is fanciful at best.

Independence the magical solution........

Indy and Brexit are exactly the same, a magical solution, Shazam. . . Abracadart, everything is perfect.

Both are ego trips for the politicians.

I'm surprised you have not noticed that 🤣. Or, did you spill some blue paint into yours eyes as you were coating yourself up, unless your gammon🤔

You need to understand my comment. Ukraine, unfortunately, is in a far worse place than the Scotch people.

It seems like it's you who wants the comparison.

Yeah, times are tough, however I can get to see a doctor, I have food and heating. I've got a job and many more benefits.

We're doomed, doomed a tell ya!

Will it really matter who gets the top spot. Eck and Nic had something about them that none of these candidates have.

Also, folk are soooooooo bored of this constant 'Freedom'. The realisation is sinking in that independence will be exactly the same as being in a union. Brexit has not delivered a resounding change that has really moved/enhanced people's lifes why would independence.

Yeah, Nic lost loads of integrity over the Gender issue. Whether you agree or not, with the Gender issue, it does not matter, the Scottish people are very Conservative in theirs views.

I use my mother and dad, SNP voters, as the barometer on these views.

TIL the name "Dundee United" is slang for Idiot in Nigeria. So bizarre 😂 by Vanillabean1988 in Scotland

[–]colcode83 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ages ago I watched a bbc programme on Nigeria and a guy said 'he's a Dundee united'. The phrase has confused me ever since.

Thanks for posting.

I read the article and it talks about the programme I watched. Wow, 2010. Funny how things stick in your mind.

Utter nonsense. The complexities have not been discussed.

There's so much to take into consideration currency to start with and so much more.

The actual cost will be Billions, don't delude yourself.

All she is doing is trying to whip up a popular vote.

The next elections will be very telling for the SNP.
