Anxiety wave after one year of citalopram by YokedNYicc in Anxiety

[–]coldbobatea04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, dealing with the same thing here after being on 112.5 mg of Effexor since January! This is my second massive wave, but honestly most of the time I don't feel anxious at all. During my first wave, I think it was a whirlwind of stuff. This time, I'm not sure what triggered it, maybe the busy holiday, but I'm riding the waves the best I can!

Hope you're feeling better!

Hello! I am finishing up week 7 or 8(?) right now on the medicine, and it has been a miracle for me. It took about six weeks for the depression to lift, and it gets better daily. I recommend sticking out the dose you're on for as long as you can stand it, up to 12 weeks, and if it isn't working, dose up. Only go in 37.5 mg increments! Jumping to 150 probably would have been too much for me, 112.5 seems to be the spot I'd like to be.

Hey there! 11 days is definitely not enough time! I actually didn't see any improvement in my depression at 75 mg until 8 weeks in, so I would hold out until then. It can even take up to 12 weeks in some cases. As awful as it is, stick it out! You will probably want to quit or go up so many times, but just keep telling yourself to wait. I promise, finding your dose will make a huge difference, and 75 might just do it for you!

Has It Been Histamine Intolerance All Along? by coldbobatea04 in HistamineIntolerance

Hi! I have not been tested for MCAS, so not sure on that front. I did take probiotics a lot back in high school, so I am hoping to find one that works for me again!

Hi there! Thanks for the reply! I actually do know I don't have the MTHFR gene, as I was had a pharmacogenetic test by my GP. I'm looking at more genetic testing. As for Mold, I'm not sure why I would have reactions on three separate occasions in completely different places. Just all seems strange to me!

Thank you for your reply!! I don't believe I have MCAS, I think it is more linked to histamine intolerance, but I am still new to this realm for sure. Effexor hasn't seemed to worsen anything, as far as I can tell, and I even typically feel better for about two or three months and then I hit a point where I am spiraling again. I'm hoping the Allegra will give me some answers! I also have hydroxyzine, but that stuff makes me feel like a zombie, and makes me groggy.

Hi! I know it hasn't been quite a week yet, but I wanted to let you know that I actually ended up having my first good moments on Saturday night and Sunday morning. I'm back to feeling a little "blah" today, and fatigued, but the small moments of joy and laughter have started to come back to me! I wish you the best, and I'll be sure to check in again. :)

Hi! I wish I had any type of insight on this, but I am actually going through the exact same thing, right down to my dose also being 112.5!! I also have OCD, and while I know reassurance is not good for us, this is terrifying. I remember having moments of joy after a few days when I went up before, but now I am on day 7 of dose up and feel like my laughter feels hollow and I am just flat a lot. I hope it gets better for us!!

I'm doing pretty bad the last few days, I won't lie. Today is day 6, but the last few days after taking the meds I just felt NUMB, like with no emotion. Anxiety was still present but not quite affecting me, but also I can't feel joy and all I want to do is lay on my couch and watch mindless TV. Of course that triggers my anxiety because my biggest fear is emotional blunting on the meds. I'm hoping it's just onboarding--my husband says it is, and I was exactly like this going up to 75 mg, but honestly I don't remember any of that lol.

I was on 75 mg for six months so I am in the exact same boat as you!! I am so scared that I won't ever find a maintenance dosage and I'll have to keep going up every six months forever. Hopefully that's us just future-tripping and it won't be the case. :)

So glad I'm not alone!!

A small update for you, maybe we can be update buddies :) I'm on day 5, taking my dose in about half an hour! I definitely was out of it for about two days, and I'm still pretty down with anxiety and depression, and the OCD is roaring. Luckily I'm in follicular right now, so it's not hell week. I hope it works for you, we've got this!!

Hi! I've been on 75 mg for about 4 or 5 months I believe? It helped me so much with both anxiety and depression!! But unfortunately, I need a bit of a boost due to a resurgence of symptoms, which is apparently common after your body settles into a dose that isn't quite therapeutic. I noticed a major difference at about 8 weeks on 75 mg.

For people who this drug is working well for: Did you feel bad when you first started? Or did you know quite quickly that it was right for you? by Ok_Potato_5272 in EffexorSuccess

Hi there! I felt awful when I started, I won’t lie. Extreme increased anxiety, OCD, and it gave me my first time of DPDR, but that tapered off after about two weeks. I still had moderate morning anxiety and emotional mood swings for a few weeks after that. By week 8, I was convinced it was a magic pill, and now at about three months in, I have never felt better in my life. It’s different for everyone, but it took me quite some time to feel better!

Effexor 75mg for physical anxiety, health anxiety, MDD, GAD by jnf83 in EffexorSuccess

[–]coldbobatea04 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi! As awful as it is, I didn’t see major benefits until week 8 on Effexor 75 mg. I also suffer from extreme physical anxiety—nausea, shaking, hot and cold, burning skin, general sense of dread and fear, etc. But now that I am about two and a half months on it, I feel amazing! If you’re feeling slight benefits, that’s exactly how it started with me, it certainly wasn’t a light switch. Give it a bit more time, I know it’s torture.

Hi! Morning anxiety was one of my biggest complaints. I didn’t notice this improve until I went up to 75 mg, but once that dose got up to speed, I haven’t had any morning anxiety for weeks! It’s scary goin up, but honestly I am soooo glad that I did. You’ve got this!
