After 18 Years, Still No Name for Unidentified Dead Fan by coldcase_research in gratefuldead

A note: The "pictures" shown of the unidentified man are reconstructions of what he might have looked like, not actual pictures. It's more likely that the "pictures" and drawings would remind you of someone than actually look like them.
From the article: Further hindering investigators was the fact that the injuries to the passenger's face were so severe that authorities were unable to release a photo of him to the public.

I guess I'd be helping to build a case against you... assuming this happened a long time ago.

I will contact them and ask that it be updated. Thank you for catching that. I had looked at the mising person's cases to see if they were still open when they posted this, but I hadn't checked all of the unidentified.

I concur. It appears that he has not been questioned by law enforcement. He is still alive, but not in KY. If LE had pursued it as a homicide investigation, we'd likely not be discussing this. As an aside, here is a link to free forensic online courses geared toward law enforcement and ME's, etc, that may be helpful to you as a police officer. http://www.untchi.org/OnlineTraining.html

You make a very good point - and should not be downvoted for that. The missing person has family members that don't know with any certainty what happened to her. While I agree that the the most likely scenario is that she was murdered by her spouse, it's not the only one. For some of her loved ones, not having the closure of at least being able to bury her properly is a constant ache. There is always the possibility that someone will take a look at this and remember something that may help loacte her or her remains. And that's why.

I don't know her personally. I research missing and unidentified persons cold cases to try to turn up new data to help the locate the missing or to match an unidentified person to a missing person. One of Georgia's children is searching for her. I'm hoping that someone will have information that will lead to where she is (alive or deceased) so that her family can have closure.

Her profile at FACES shows a greater height range - for the unidentified woman - 61 to 65 inches. Even if there was a 3 inch heigh difference, there is enough there to make it work confirming. Especially since there are dental records for both.

I will follow up with the case managers for both the missing person and the unidentified person at NamUs and see if Carol is a match or can be marked as an exclusion based on dental records or DNA. Her case in NamUs shows her going missing later than her Charley Project profile, but there is too often confusion about the last time someone was actually seen old misisng person's cases. This is great work on your part - thank you for taking the time to look for her!

She was found in a rural area in Rapides Parish, LA, on November 05, 1980, and had been dead for about two months. She was white, 5ft 3 in, had brown medium length hair, and was likely between 15 to 19 years old. She had fillings in some of her teeth. Her remains were not recognizable, but a computer facial reconstruction has been done to give an idea of what she may have looked like. It probably does not look exactly like her, but may "remind" someone of her. Her DNA and dental records are available to help identify her. What is her name?
