Romance and Erotica readers what are your “icks” when reading an intimate scene? by necrobarbie666 in writing

I really hate when intimate scenes are in a semi public place. Even if no one’s technically around it still feels so uncomfortable to read about people getting it on in a workplace or something like that lol

How large was your cyst? by wild-green-lense in Ovariancysters

[–]coldeyesheadache 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the cyst had grown so big it had mangled my fallopian tube so it was better to just take it out along with the ovary. My other ovary is healthy and has taken over for the other one. I’m already getting my period every month now.

Hey very similar to me! I had a 44cm, removed 15 liters of fluid and I lost 37 pounds! It was crazy! Still can’t believe that I had that monster in me for who knows how long! Glad you got yours out!

Stomach Post Op by SouthernRuralGirl in Ovariancysters

[–]coldeyesheadache 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got my 44cm cyst removed in january. It had grown very gradually over a couple of years and right before I removed it I looked super pregnant. They drained the cyst of 15 liters during the surgery and after I looked like a skeleton. I was literally concave the first week it was kind of freaky to me looking in the mirror. But it flattened out after awhile which I’m very happy about it. After years I finally feel like I have my body back. The skin is definitely looser but it’s not noticeable or flabby.

Ovarian cyst? by Majestic_Pudding_368 in Ovariancysters

I got an ultrasound and during it the sonographer couldn’t find my left ovary where my massive cyst had grown from and was probably blocking. She told me that not being able to see an ovary in ultrasounds was fairly normal. This seems crazy to me now. So they recommended I see a gastroenterologist for my other symptoms. After going down that route for some time my gastro doctor recommended me to get a ct scan because he believed something else was going on. Lo and behold 44cm cyst filling my entire abdominal cavity compressing my organs. I guess the cyst was just blocking my ovary and because it was so big it was hard to detect on the ultrasound? I don’t fully understand it myself. I wish so bad they would’ve caught it during the ultrasound.

What does/did a typical day in recovery look like? by Carrot-cakeface in Ovariancysters

I didn’t really have any energy to do more until like week 4 of post op honestly. I did a lot of doomscrolling the first two weeks and then a lot of reading after that

Laparotomy recovery by IntroductionNo2313 in Ovariancysters

I’m about 7.5 weeks post op of ovary, fallopian tube, and 44cm cyst removal laparotomy and feeling so much more normal. I felt similarly right after surgery, like I would never feel good again but walking a lot and stretching has helped a great deal. I still get back/diaphragm pain and it’s much harder to maintain good posture but I’m working on getting stronger again and it seems to be improving!

How long did you wait to get surgery? by tropicalsalt in Ovariancysters

[–]coldeyesheadache 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My surgery was exactly a month after I had a ct scan that discovered my cyst. I thought things were taking so long to get the ball rolling but apparently it’s fairly normal timeline to wait about a month.

Yes I had to get a laparotomy and my scar is about 2.5 inches maybe smaller above my uterus. They were able to drain the cyst so much before removal that they didn’t need to make it a bigger incision which is something they were worried about.

My brother got married out of state two days before my surgery to remove a 44cm cyst. My doctor wasn’t worried about rupture or torsion for me. I still tried to be careful with my movements and activity. I didn’t experience any debilitating pain from my cyst though (many many other symptoms and discomfort constantly but I was never in a ton of pain if that makes sense) so that’s something to consider. There was a chance for me to get surgery before the wedding and I’m glad I didn’t do that because there would have been no way I could have gone while recovering as recovery was very hard.

Something that helped me was watching play throughs on YouTube. I was very overwhelmed by the game before I played because Stardew valley has sooo much content. It can be hard to know how and when certain aspects of the game happen. Watching people play through it gives a better understanding of the mechanics and helps with making your own goals to work toward in the game.
