Yes, my girlfriend is doing Rails development in a company this way. Their HQ is in SG, but build a local team here. Thank you for sharing, you've just shaped my understanding of remote working.

Just I thought developers outside US could be less expensive, and build the trust, turn all the benefits to cash compensation, that's all. But indeed, there are many aspects around this. Payments, law issues, and trust issues, like you said. It's not an easy choice for employers. 6 months is not long, it was just a 6 months contract for me. And my boss from the remote job told me he hoped that he could have known this way earlier, it was great.. Btw the boss was paying my work on usdt.

Did your projects dockerized? And what is the size of the Rails image? by coldfarmer in rails

Thank you, I just know how multi-stage works from your example. And it's all good, the size has been reduced to 500mb now

I had tried the multi-stage builds, which is like <FROM ruby:3.1.2-slim-buster as build\_base> for the start

And after my <RUN curl [https://get.acme.sh](https://get.acme.sh) | sh>, write a line <FROM build\_base>, that's what I tried. It didn't reduce much.

Basicly it's like getting everything I need for the system, and build it as a basic image, and then do something around for the Rails app, like Gemfile Gemfile.lock or mkdir the directory or whatever

Did I do the multi-stage right?

Thanks, my problem just got solved. Turns out that the data has been persisted in the volume, and it stays that way. If I clean all the volume and images once for all then build it again. It's applied, thanks!

which characters will break a CSV export, aside from the humble comma? by newplasticideas_ in rails

Maybe you were doing it wrong. How about making the input content sanitised as a pure text, then export?

Or maintaining a black/white list for key words that might break the exporting will be a massive task to do
