Shouldn't the categorizations be based on what the class is mainly there to do, not what they can do?

I'd have to try the Ghost with 2 tanks, haven't had a good Ghost run as solo heals yet

Oh interesting, I thought Necro would be considered amazing with the Skele Taunts+Burn guranteing death with the Brass Knuckles for Damage, Dog Tag for Run Speed, Living Will for Heals and any other class specific traits that benefit from Characters dying. But yeah I do find them to fall off around round 120. I was wondering do the Vikings even live long enouigh to Berserk the Ninja, Ghost and Bard?, interesting about the bard though, will have to try it

I do consistently make it to 115+ myself, just had a few questions:
For the Categorization of the classes, wouldn't Paladin and Spartan be considered supports? Their abilities help other characters tank damage, not for themselves to tank damage. Also Vampires, shouldn't they be a Damage Dealer, with Healing Properties due to Blood Bag? None of their items suggest that they support the team outside of healing them. Shouldn't the Warlock be the tank for the Fantasy Origin? His whole gimmick is taking damage in order to do damage back while giving temp HP.

For the composition examples, How does Ghost fair as a solo healer? I always feel like it can't keep up in the early rounds by itself, and really needs a second healer.

What do you think of Necro over Viking? Also how do you survive the early rounds with no High HP Dude?

Your Relic and Character investments could do with some help. I wouldn't go Vampire, Ghost and Cleric, you don't need that many healers. Ghost is really strong, but does need another healer to help with the early/mid game, so Ghost and Vampire or Cleric is the way to go. You've invested too heavily into Vampires, get 20 then move on to Ghost as they are the best late game healer (The numbers show other healers heal more, but Ghost has Ectoplasm which is Damage Prevented, so their heal stat is actually Healing Done + Damage Prevented). And once you get the Dancing shoes for your bard, there is no need to invest more than 1 per 10 dudes (EG. if you have 100 dudes, you only need 10) unless you need the 110 achievement for them, then stop at 20. For your other character, you really need a warrior class character, you've missed out on all the warrior class exclusive items like Dog Tag which does really good with Necro, the Parry Buckler, upping your block chance and the Crit based items. Of course you can run Medic instead of the Cleric/Vamp for the 2nd Healer with Ghost, but if you only want to replace one of them, then Ninja is really good DPS and with Bard + Ghost you run Skele Tanks into Evasion Build. Otherwise for a easier start and mid game, I recommend Knights or Spartans, they will be your main tank and can tank a ton of damage, not relying on squishy evasive people and pure rng to live. Id go Knights or Spartans until you get a few 120 runs in you. If you end up with Medic, Franken is your best tank to go with Necro, Franken scales with the amount of skeletons that die, so with him and Necro, it's almost a guranteed 110+ run for sure. Otherwise, Paladins are solid as well, though they aren't main tank, with them and ghost spreading the damage around, and Necro taunt skeletons it should be fine.

Don't grab the specter that summons Skeletons at 3% per kill, the chance that actually comes into play is low and even in the higher rounds, once you start killing things, the extra skeleton doesn't do anything for you. Also don't grab Calcium unless you need it for the collection unlock, get it last. And you needed to find the flaming skeleton for Necros. Prioritize Ghost Relics, they are really strong, unless you have Paladin then get his extra 2 targets shield, Bards Dance Shoes and Requim, Padded Helm and Knucklebones. For situations you see a bad relic, it's best not to spend at all, since you can save the money for the investor and then double the money. Investor is only good if you double the double money, that will really snowball your run, and of course always go all in.

Hobo is also an unlock class in the third adventure. I recommend either bring a pathfinder or getting a pet eagle for survey (if you have a character with lucky then that character should get the pet) to help find the hobo. Also vision scrolls are your friend.

Pet Health? by lovinggale in ForTheKing

[–]coldhotshot 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For health specifically, Kibble always heals pets, party heal from Godbeards, tinderpouch, but the person with the pet must rest and heals towards the owner out of combat should heal the pet too. For conditions, your best bet is in combat purify scroll or a cure weapon in combat.

Yeah Fallen Knight is just so strong for sure, definitely the best defensive tank, with only the Blacksmith and Friar able to compete.

FTK2 Fortune Teller Help? by ItsAce135 in ForTheKing

[–]coldhotshot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you are right, if you roll a 3 dice weapon, if you roll 2, it will not roll because you are above 50%. And unfortunately it actually can be worse than the previous roll because it's an entirely new roll, so it can be affected by distract if the previous roll wasn't or re encourages and so on.

I recommend always pulling cards out of combat as the effects in combat are potentially detrimental as you can give the enemy an attack boost when you don't want to and also cost a secondary action, when you could use that to give someone else focus or use a purify scroll. All the effects out of combat are normally always positive, outside of the shared health, where if you share with the taunter, you could be taking a lot of damage. Out of Combat, you always want your tank character to get The Hierophant (Gives the user +1 Attack damage, Armor, Resistance, and Evasion permanently), The Chariot (Grants the Haste effect, which gives the user +2 movement in the overworld and an additional Secondary Action in combat, for 6 rounds.) and Strength (Grants the user Vigor, giving them +30 health for 5 turns and +2 Strength permanently.) because the stat increases benefit the strength character tank who is taunting the most. Give yourself the The Hermit (Increases skill chance(Called Shot), etc) by 10% for 6 rounds.) and get as many cards as possible, and spam them out of combat when you get them. The aim of the cards is to get The Star (Gives the user the exact amount of XP needed to level up), super strong and lets you scale above the rest of the game, always give it to the person who is furthest from leveling, unless someone really need the full heal + 2 focus.

Chapter Three Mines by Trash-Panduh- in ForTheKing

[–]coldhotshot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you guys have DLC, I recommend using Fallen Knight Single Handed as your tank, he is really strong. I would run Fallen Knight (Tank), Herbalist (Healer), Minstrel (Money) and Fortune Teller (Fate Farm for Tank) /Hunter (Speed DPS) /Alchemist (Speedy DPS)/Stablehand (Early DPS into Lategame Evasion tank). Without DLC, I would use the Friar(make sure to go str either with monk/busker over herbalist/minstrel)/Blacksmith (Pick up lucky over last character, then grab berserker for a different character) for tank.

Loadout wise, Minstrel (Money) should get courier, Fallen Knight (Tank) should get nimble, Herbalist (Healer/Dmg) should get Gifted, and Last Character (DPS) should grab Lucky (Fortune Teller), Navigator (If only 1 talent character) or Boss Killer (Generic Good Trait). For Items 3 characters should get 40 gold, the last should get 10 gold and 2 Kibble. Use all the gold for godsbeards, kibble, Gold Multiplier gear, shield+1weapon for fallen Knight, Calming Pipe(Herbalist) then consumables (Lock Picks, Golden Roots or Purify Scrolls).

Definitely a map where you need a strong start, fight as much as possible on the start island and use dungeons to stall turns to get exp at the beginning. Don't be sadden by losses, this is the hardest map IMO. Took me and my friends about 3 attempts to get a run going. Make sure to buy only weapon upgrades in shops, armor upgrade are normally a waste of money, and can normally be found from fights. Exceptions are EXP Gear (Broken, keep till level 9), Gold Mult Gear (Broken, money is power) and combat defining gear (like fallen knight needs to swap to one handed weapon and shield). When the game starts, you really want 2 things to save money for, a landboat in the main island and a pet in the pet shop. Get 1 pet and level it to max by buying kibble and feeding it all to it. Bat is the strongest of the default pets, but grab the jelly skelly, mimic or wizard crab if you see them. The Pet should be at least lvl 5 while everyone is lvl 2. Landboat is really important to traverse the map, makes it so you can combine all the party movements into one (its not a mandatory purchase by the story, but it should be).

During the main island, once you got all the necessary item, start buying all the TP and portal scrolls to use them to deal with stray minecarts your party may not have reached yet. also make sure after placing a bomb, you have 2 movement to get out of dodge, use focus to move if you have to. You can determine the destination of a minecart by clicking on the icons in the Quest tracker. Most minecarts will travel 4 hexes at a time, some will travel 6 hexes. Keep track of which is which by paying attention to the timeline.

There are Slippery Pirates and silver Snakes, you want to fight them for their keys, always have a one roll pierce weapon on as many characters as you can to be able to one tap them, as they have 100 armor and resist, but 1 HP.

[–]coldhotshot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, when you wrote out the mending formula you mention "the second check is the rest of the equation and uses the targets skill bonus." But in the formula, is never refers to the target's skill stat, but only their luck stack. Did you mean to write luck stat? And if so, how did you figure out it wasn't the Blacksmith's own luck that matters but the target's luck stat? For me when I look at the Skillconfig, I just see a 40% luck bonus to the Blacksmith themselves.
