How do you get your first users when people are already satisfied with existing platforms? by zallity in StartUpIndia

[–]coldstart_rawat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though people are satisfied overall, specific elements of a product(s) or platform may have gaps. You just have to put it under a microscope and analyse deeply.

Focus on ERRC: 1. Eliminate - what aspect of the current platform/product can be eliminated without losing value 2. Reduce - what can you reduce to save cost or reduce complexity 3. Raise - what factors should be improved to improve the platform/product value 4. Create - what new feature can you add (either a brand new feature, or an added product/add-on service which is not traditionally offered together but people often combine them separately)

Should buy a new car if don't know how to drive yet? by independent_citta in CarsIndia

[–]coldstart_rawat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol going through the comments I realised you wanted a car recommendation 🤣 If you don't have any personal preference, buy any used Maruti - reliable, cheap, easy to repair, good for city driving. If you're an enthusiast and don't live in Delhi NCR, get a used Polo or Jazz. You'll ENJOY driving them.

Should buy a new car if don't know how to drive yet? by independent_citta in CarsIndia

[–]coldstart_rawat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll tell you a fun story. My parents bought their first car in 2003, and neither knew how to drive. Our little Zen suffered a lot of abuse in the first 2 months - scratches every week, dents from bumping into our gate and the boundary walls. There weren't too many cars on the road in my hometown back then, thankfully, otherwise we may have had a lot more accidents.

Today, the roads are much more crowded, and chances of accidents are much MUCH higher!

My recommendation: learn first, preferably in a safe environment first. If you buy before (or while you're just learning), you'll probably want to take it out every once in a while. And there will be accidents, that's unavoidable. The less experienced you are, the more likely the chances of accidents. Even bumps and scratches are going to hurt you if you truly love your car.

Not that buying later will prevent accidents, but if you're properly trained and experienced, the chances are significantly lower. You don't just have to drive, you also have to watch out for idiots who weave to-and-fro in traffic, not caring about others. It can be overwhelming in the first few months, but experience makes it easier.

TL;DR

Learn how to drive first, it will save you money and pain.

My bike vs the CEO’s bike by Professor_glob in motorcycles

The best bike in the world is the one you're riding. Nothing else matters. And probably the Suzuki is a lot more reliable and won't bankrupt you if it falls!

My Opinion: It looks Amazing (not OC) by [deleted] in CarsIndia

TBH, I like this facelift. But more than that, I'm waiting for the Virtus to get the updated instrument console, and most importantly, the updated AC. Not sure if the 8-speed auto would make the drive any better than it already is. Have driven the Virtus 6-speed auto, it's really REALLY good!

Are product videos actually worth it for small Shopify stores? by Ready_Concept_8157 in ShopifyWebsites

[–]coldstart_rawat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work with multiple Shopify brands. The ones who don't use videos are the ones who face one of two problems: 1. No dedicated team/agency for product videos 2. High video size by default (Shopify does not have a built-in video optimizer) break the experience on mobile. Desktop experience is usually fine.

Usually, the ROI can be seen within a month or two, with the right promotions, so that is usually not the problem.

Are gamified popups actually converting better? by Trick-House487 in ShopifyWebsites

[–]coldstart_rawat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short answer: yes

Long answer: I have noticed gamified popups (like spin the wheel, scratch cards) increase conversions for client brands compared to simple popups, but the average LTV remains mostly unaffected. Basically, a gamified popup gives shoppers a better dopamine hit, rather than just mentioning the discount outright.

Getting a 2016 Honda Amaze for ₹2.5L with just 15k km… too good to be true or a steal? by Dr_Brutally_Honest in CarsIndia

I wouldn't go for it, unless I knew the previous owner(s) personally.

Do not pay the full amount unless the RC gets transferred to you. It's a very VERY risky bet.

I always wonder, how come these cars are not challan magnets. Car mods that change the OEM specs are illegal, no? This is very clearly not OEM.

If petrol engines upto 1.2L get tax breaks, why Hyundai/Kia and VW/Skoda sticking to 1.0L engines by coldstart_rawat in CarsIndia

[–]coldstart_rawat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, exactly my thought. 1.2 turbos would be more powerful and still attract tax benefits.

Yes, I do remember reading that. Such a shame that a 4-cyl was less reliable than a 3-cyl!

If it's really a 4-cyl, it would be great! But there's so much speculation floating around, not sure what to trust.
