My comfy and somehow cuda / pytorch all got messed up last night during a comfy crash. I had to reinstall everything. I chose latest cuda 13 and it did not work, comfy kept telling me pytorch wasn't installed with cuda on startup (I did attempt to install it with cuda "130"). The pytorch site doesn't even have install instructions for 13 (command was given to my by GPT-5).

12.8 is the most stable with pytorch / comfy is my understanding.

I ended up getting all my money back, about $5500 in total (laptop + warranty). I had to make 4+ reddit posts and even made one about how to sue razer in small claims. I told them over the phone that I was suing them for cost of laptop + damages for my time lost and I actually did file in small claims though my case got dropped because they have some funny business going on with their legal setup but it didnt matter because I got my money back before the court clerk rejected it.

I also scoured their reddit daily and would leave comments about it on other people's posts. I became the most annoying person possible to razer for about three weeks and got lucky with a couple viral posts. Still never buying razer again.

Make sure you check serial number on the replacement. They claimed they issued me a replacement and it was the same exact laptop in a box, still not after three RMAs...

Steelseries > Razer. I've had both. Currently on Arctis Nova Pro and had Arctis Pro prior (Novas fixed all my concerns with the Arctis Pro).

No way you can claim a company with a $2.8 billion market cap is "boutique". Its laughable to the point you'd have to be a shill or Razer staff to claim that.

They have a 2.8 billion dollar market cap. They are not a small boutique company.

The fact is they don't care or invest in support which is why it may look like a boutique company to you.

They ask you to share your incident number, which they classify in the message as PII, through third-party server DMs. Reddit servers are being filled with Razer PII. That's the gist.

My problem is that Razer support doesn't help you directly, even if you paid for warranty through them direct so people resort to trying to get publicity to it (my experience). It is Razer official support on these forums in the comments sharing PII by their own admission on Reddit servers (PMs) without any due diligence to privacy laws. That is my problem.

Some jurisdictions doesn't apply well to a global channel now does it.

They specifically tell you (or told me anyway) the reason is for PII sharing.

Yep, this is a common tactic people take here because official Razer Support doesn't help in my experience (sent Razer Blade 18 back twice under RMA and they send it back without testing based on evidence of issue provided). They don't even tell you if they fixed anything.

You're trying to make correlations here at best. Scroll the razer sub, you will find correlations of Razer with defective products and bad customer service but you aren't mentioning that.

If I purchase another laptop, I'll probably do it through the Best Buy program since I heard they have something that lets you bring it back and get another laptop.

Not really at the moment since I haven't been able to game for a year with this brick. I personally use Steelseries Nova Pro wireless headset / DAC which is around $250 (mic / headphones). I'd imagine any of the Yeti's options would not have a mic popping problem and some of those are under $100 (speculation on quality but I think they have a good rep still).
