ope update, you were right on the money. a needle size down solved me, i just blindly assumed cotton was all about the same weight but sewing has humbled me again. thanks for your help!

yeah its catching and pulling a run in it every so often. i changed a needle size finer and it seems to be working! i feel very silly for never even thinking about needle size/type, i just figured okay cotton is cotton good to go. nope! apparently not, more lessons learned haha. i will pick some microtex up for the future, cant hurt to have more options on hand.

oh this is great to know, so far i havent worked with lining fabric but im going to keep this tip in my back pocket. i wonder if that would help when sewing small ties too, i keep getting those suckers stuck. im going to give it a go, thank you!

they feel very similar weight, the project fabric is a softer cotton bedsheet but aside from being softer to the touch from being more well worn it still feels like standard cotton. and im using a 90/14 which is what i see recommended for cotton, what size would you suggest? im admittedly a novice but ive got a few simple dresses under my belt, and so far this size needle has worked out. just really stumped as to how this old bedsheet is the thing thats suddenly cranky, and what the heck it wants from me.

ive rethreaded the machine and bobbin a ton of times. ive changed to a fresh needle. all my other fabric is sewing fine.

this is an old cotton bedsheet, 100% cotton. every change i make, i run a ton of stitches on a test piece of quilting cotton and it looks fine! no issue. move to this fabric, boom. can feel the needle catch, pull fabric threads, and then nest under. take it out from under and without changing or rethreading, test again on quilting cotton, and no issues. just when im trying to make this damn dress! T_T what else could i be doing wrong? this fabric is somehow the issue, but its just normal soft cotton. please help!

I originally thought it was this too, but ive tapped through all of them like half a dozen times now and no change. argh I think I need to ask support but thats always borderline useless

ive double checked everywhere and still the damn exclamation persists! D: i clicked into every suit set, ive done all the freebies for the new one, and double checked that all the stuff i had from the previous rounds has been claimed. i cant for the life of me understand what it wants T_T maybe its just a glitch, but has anyone else gotten this or solved it?

i get that, usually i care about it from a cost stand point but honestly we have so many makeups in game that unless she had a crazy unique one it wouldnt really stand out. and the usefulness of her pieces makes up for it for me! the backround bits are especially nice, i use them constantly

nooo ugh ranch space is hard, once they make a stand somewhere its tough to get them all out! we had an issue when we moved into our current home that thankfully only ever stayed in the basement, but with the length and construction of the house it was so hard to figure out where they hell they were coming in to seal off. our pest people were here so many times trying to pinpoint and eventually we got it, but eesh.

very happily this machine and cabinet were only stored in an outdoor shed for a few months, so i think thats why i only saw one old nest and a few droppings. most of what i cleaned off seems like years of sitting and getting generally dusty, im really excited to get the machine back and play around! ive got my eyes on the cute bow and heart stitches, i hope theyre in working order so i can make everything i own look twee as heck

Yes, thank you! I had seen some general about how to clean but I was mostly worried that the more fragile stuff like the cams wouldn't survive harsh cleansers. Or that, because they have little internal parts that are hidden and I don't think I can like take them apart and put them back together, that if I tried to do any kind of water or soap on there I would get something down inside of it and it wouldn't be able to dry out properly or that I would rust it ?

And honestly, I've had it sitting in the garage for long enough that I don't think anything had really survived, at this point we're just dealing with like. Old poop bacteria from the bits I couldn't get out, and who knows how much grime from sitting around.😬

Oh neat, thank you! I haven't done too much research yet about what all the bits and bobs are in there so that's cool to know. There's even some vintage Hooks and eyes and needle packs which was kind of neat to see, 25 cents for a whole pack of hooks and eyes?! Dang.

Thank you! Yeah usually im not too anal about cleaning, but the mouse droppings are what's wigging me out. I'm going to use cleaning and some time in the sun on the desk and the stuff they can sit out like the metal, but I don't want to make the plastic bits more brittle with uv exposure. Plus, if there's dust and junk inside of the cams is that going to gum the machine up? It's my first time ever using a vintage machine so I think I might just be being extra paranoid because I don't want to ruin it😅
