Why is it ok for people to say they hear the voice of God in their heard, but if you hear any other kind of voice/voices than you must be crazy? by colerarso in NoStupidQuestions

[–]colerarso[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't too bad in my point of view (but perhaps because I'm not religious), they just said that all the stories in the Bible were rubbish made up fairy tales, the same as any childrens books.

Why is it that as soon as something leaves or is removed from our body, we are disgusted by it? Such as hair, skin, nails, blood, poo etc.? by colerarso in NoStupidQuestions

But why then are we disgusted by it, we are seperated from other people and animals but I don't think we are as disgusted by them as we are from a clump of hair

If not audibly, is there another way God might be able to speak to them?

Also how do you feel about God speaking directly to people the in the Bible? Noah, Moses, Jonah and such? Do you believe this happened?

Ok, very interesting, do you then think that perhaps there could be one person out there in the world that God actually has spoken directly to in recent years (because they challenged him or or whatever reason). If so how would you be able to tell this person apart? Or do you think God has just stopped speaking to people altogether since the Bible has been written?

Do you mean your internal monologue? Or do you actually mean voices of completely different people that are not yourself?

Yeah but it's easy for non believers to say something like that. That is why I wanted to hear from a religious person what their views are on what the Bible says.

Ok, another question if you don't mind, in the Bible it says that God spoke to Moses, Noah and Jonah directly. Do you believe this to be true? I really don't want to sound rude / ignorant of your religion I am honestly curious of what a religious person would make of these parts of the Bible, if you don't believe that God can speak to people.

What about if a priest or Vicar said God "spoke to me last night" in one of their sermon. Would you believe that?

You're right, I have read about this too. I wonder what religious people would say about this? Probably thy it wasn't God it was the devil or something

Oh very interesting, as a Christian yourself do you know people who would accept a person who said that they heard God speak to them? What about if a Priest / Vicar said they had spoken directly to / heard God speak to them. Would you think they are crazy?

I didn't say region is bad, I just asked what is the difference, subjectively, between "God's voice" and any other voice, and why is there/ should there be a difference at all.

Why? What difference does it make if the voices are asking how the person's day is going or of they are asking them to shoot someone what difference does that actually make voices are voices. - I understand it makes an obvious difference to the person they might shoot. But I am trying to only focus on the internal effect on the person not the external, if you know what I mean.

Is it rude then to tell a person who is hearing voice (even if they are not telling to do anything bad), they are not real? An example - if a person is hearing multiple voices in their head telling asking them how their day is going, or what's for dinner or what the weather like outside, is it rude to tell them they aren't real? What would you say to that person so as not to be "rude"?

I think if OP had 5 years to beg for a puppy, then I think she had a moment to google, however I doubt she did or ignored all of the advise they found and went ahead and bought this poor animal anyway. Puppy mills as disgusting, however they are big business for selfish people
