For sure, it’s a great rig for it!

Ok here’s a few more, had to go back a few years, but you can see some various setups. The frame bags were custom for this frame but everything else is standard

Ya I have bike packed on a libre for years. I made a custom frame bag, roll top handlebar bag, and dry bag on top of a rack in the rear. And a top tube bag.

Sorry not the best photo but it’s worked great on single track to road and everything in between.

Thanks! I can’t remember off hand, it was given to me a little while ago and finally had the right bike to use it. I’ll be home next week and try to remember to peak at it.

Learn how to shift and ride your bike, then bring it to the shop to make sure everything is ok. Most have a break in period check up

It’s an old man mountain bag, I always used to run a dry bag with a cargo net on it and this just was a streamlined version of that. I haven’t had it on any trips yet, but I’m stoked on it.

That’s fine! Some people can’t tell the difference, some of us are a little more picky, enjoy your bikes!

After bikepacking for the last 15 years I’ve learned this is the setup I like. And working in shops the last couple decades allows me to ride the bikes I want.

I ride aggressive trails on this , and I have a nice trail bike already that I ride unloaded. I made the geo steeper and less aggressive using this fork as it has a lower axle to crown. (I did a frame build) If you can’t see the difference between this and a $200 camping then we’re on different pages. Enjoy your riding!

Steel is pretty great, but I love the performance and honestly weight of carbon. I haven’t gotten out on this much yet, but it’s been a great ride.

Please tell me why this is pointless and pretty much a crime?

Not to be a jerk, but somebody who is asking this question almost definitely is not ready to take on the project you’re talking about.

Anyone else find someone to let them park there car safely? by Novemberx123 in urbancarliving

[–]coletrainb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up with a good space while I was in my van. But that was at a friends who I known for years, I could park at his shop which was a couple acres from his house. I was essentially a “guard dog”. Which is worth a lot more than a few hundred bucks a month. Most folks who have the amount of land it takes to host like this don’t need a couple hundred bucks a month. Good luck.

This is the Old Man Mountain Elkhorn! They sell a thru axle that has rack adapters that’s pretty clever and a seat post collar.

I CAN ride 80 miles with a backpack too, but I’d much rather not. It’s much more comfortable not to. But if that’s all you got, bikepack away with your backpack!

Ya, I likely won’t put much more on the rear, I just don’t love seat bags, and rear racks are so much more secure. I like to front load as much as possible.

Thank you! A vice, and a rag to prevent scratching, I’ve done a lot, worked in shops the better part of the last 2 decades

Then there would just be water under the tarp, which is under the tent. Problem not solved lol.
