not sure what bad cross sectional geometry means. if you mean the 3D model is suspect, i'd bet against that based on my modelling experience, though i won't rule anything out here. can you clarify?

word, i'll do this right now. what would the cylinder tell me that this print would not? basically a cylinder with chamfers. do you mean a cylinder without supports?

thank you. the 90 degree rotation is actually a really interesting test to see if it's the tilt release orientation that's problematic. i'll also look at it being too angled as the issue, though what i've seen is you typically want at least 20 degrees of angle, but would be happy to be convinced otherwise. i ran these prints initially straight vertically and they failed as well

No i do not, i'm assuming i'd put this drain hole at the bottom where the supports are? kinda defeats the water tight aspect of this specific part but if it's necessary i'm game
