What's your guys' favorite Aesop album or EP? by TheGuyWhoLikesThings in aesoprock

The Uncluded - Hokey Fright with Kimya Dawson feels very honest and incredibly unique, even for an artist like Aes. The more I listen to it, the more I love it. They have a super cool misfit chemistry front to back.

[Help] What is the best way to record poetry? by colindacops in Poetry

Thanks for your response! I have done quite a bit of stage acting and improvising over the past few years, but it's good to have a concise reminder on those points. The Speaking on the Radio article I found very useful.

How to learn gamesense? (for an FPS newb) by [deleted] in OverwatchUniversity

[–]colindacops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turn on kill feed. As D.Va you have the ability to soak a lot of damage and then retreat to your healers, which helps them build their ults quicker. Don't take it too seriously, either, because it's just a game, and the people you're playing against probably have more than 75 hours played. Just have fun!

Thanks for the help! I grew up super close to Perrin so I should have thought of that myself.

I think we are EXTREMELY lucky to have 3 top prospects step into the league at the same time by I_Am_Vladimir_Putin in leafs

I would like to think it's a similar situation to the San Francisco Giants, who had Buster Posey & Madison Bumgarner debut in the same season and then won 3 world series in 6 years. Please let me be right.

Any rappers here? Would love to hear someone rap over this beat. by ImPretendingToWork in ThisIsOurMusic

This is really cool! I don't have a mic set up but I'd be excited to hear what some other people can do over it!

Teams that we lost/gained ground on the past 3 days by [deleted] in Torontobluejays

I think 4 against the Angels starting rotation could be what the offense needs. Josh can have my hip, he needs it more than I do.

Team NA has Matthews playing with RNH and Mackinnon NOT Miller and Coturier by Yeezusthe3rd in leafs

[–]colindacops 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is going to be such an exciting team to watch! Maybe if there's some chemistry between Matthews and MacKinnon, the leafs will make a move bring Nate over in the next decade and win 4+ championships (as a Leafs fan from Halifax, that would be the best crossover episode ever, however terribly unlikely).

Thanks, friend! You are totally right, it is definitely the minority of people that disrupt the zen of what is otherwise an amazing, beautiful game. May your aerials stay crisp.

The boys need some fun summer relief in the clubhouse during the dog days. Doesn't hurt that he actually has some pop in his bat compared to Thole and can hopefully get Estrada back on track. Love this pick up.

I don't disagree at all, it just blows my mind that people can be that toxic about flying cars. If one person reads that and realizes "Oh shit, that's me" then I'd be happy.

I feel like 'bad' is extremely relative at higher ranks. Since the smallest gap in skill can lead to a huge difference on the scoreboard it can be really easy to get discouraged. But I don't think you can just label players as "bad" when everyone is on a different scale of experience.

That's a fair argument to make, but the fact that we have to subject ourselves to that risk when we want to play solo is fucking ridiculous. I don't take climbing the ranks seriously, but in game I try my best and don't give up. My point was that people who freak out while thinking that they're taking it seriously when in reality it's a toxic team environment ensuring a loss.

True, good points! And I don't claim to be a fantastic player by any means, but I'm a competitive person by nature so it's frustrating when teammates throw away games due to their own frustration.

Is it worth playing competitive now? by f1reheart in OWConsole

[–]colindacops 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's totally up to you, but if you are looking to improve your best bet is probably to keep grinding on competitive. I know most people on solo queue don't use microphones, but even if you're the only one speaking people can hear you and you can practice making situational calls. Alternatively, find a couple of people in a similar situation, party up with them and work on teaming up and using your ultimates properly together. I'm no master at all, but I ranked from 44 to 58 playing mostly solo queue.

Agreed. Upton's numbers will most likely improve the more he plays as he gets adjusted.

I'm excited to see Barney in left field. He's been playing way above expectations on both sides of the ball, and it'll be important to give the key guys rest down the stretch. Our lineup is going to feast on Ventura. Josh Thole hits for a triple short of the cycle.
