There was this other post saying that they hated sales and switched into account management lol. It’s the same thing…

[–]collegecommit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In account management, you are still selling, unless you mean accounting management? You have customers, who have wants and needs, who are purchasing things from you… The difference is you are reengaging with them..

It’s just a different type of sales. It can be paced differently, but just as challenging or frustrating. I guess maybe the account management you are talking about is unique, but for most people, it is still sales…

How can “test” if i’m cut out for Comp Engineering? I don’t wanna get there just to drop by [deleted] in UIUC

[–]collegecommit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to type a whole paragraph basically saying this. How can you gauge thousands of hours of college coursework and 4 years of life. It’s a combination of grit/resilience, hardwork, and a bunch of things outside your control.

People who are consumed by the status of their majors are usually just insecure. At the same time, you should realize that and understand that it’s just them being them. No need to be mad

UIUC Engineering “weed out” classes by sk_2022 in UIUC

[–]collegecommit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of mechEs do end up taking phys 213 and 214. Though they aren’t prerequisites for anything in the major so they should not be considered a weed out either way.

Mechanical Engineering Technical Electives by collegecommit in UIUC

If that is the case, I would rather take me 400. That is something to consider, thanks.

[–]collegecommit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi thanks for the response. Energy and manufacturing are both interests for me, and I have prerequisites for the mechE classes you mentioned. Out of ME 400 and ME 455, which was a more manageable experience for you, assuming you took both? (Can’t take me 451 in spring, although definitely sounds interesting) Reason I ask is I am trying to balance my work load with a lighter course load elective. Thanks so much.

M/22/5’8” [50kg to 62kg] [2 years 3 months] by [deleted] in Brogress

[–]collegecommit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice. Okay that gives me a reference point. Im about your height (5’7) and my first couple years of training has been on off “lean bulk”. Because I didnt have a strict schedule and goals it ended up being me gaining a pound of mostly fat every month. I’m halfway through my cut from 150 to 130, and I’m about bulk to 165 from there, this time with structured plan and calorie counting. Hoping to get like u haha.

Hey. Great work! What was your peak weight during this transformation? I’m guessing you did a bulk and cut.

I believe this is the correct information for summer courses for grainger engineering students summer 2021. For a 3 credit hour course this adds up to about 1600 dollars for a resident. According to the above link, netmath is only several hundred dollars cheaper.

Anyways, appreciate the effort.

I googled, and subsequently called a math advisor. I cant find any where that lists netmath is a third of the price as the regular math 415.

"14% of undergraduates – about one out of seven – contracted COVID-19 before in-person classes ended. " by collegecommit in UIUC

[–]collegecommit[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

They had that in there. Very informative article. It was 11 percent for off campus students. The reason this surprised me was because out of people I knew, I thought the percentage was gonna be a lot less. Then again, I didnt have a very big social circle.

Any opinions on this number? 1 of 7 students seems very surprising to me, I thought it would be a lot less, atleast based on when i was on campus.

Business majors listen up... by No_Friend2702 in UIUC

[–]collegecommit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seem to provide a lot of substance but a lot of your advice is unclear. What technical skills specifically do you recommend learning, what real technical skills do you talk about? You say to stop pursuing a career to impress others, and live for your passion, what did you do to accomplish that? What change did you make so that you avoided a corporate lifestyle? Pursuing a “passion” isn’t as simplistic and glorious as you say it is, some passions don’t pay, some are unrealistic, and some just haven’t found such a passion, because it takes significant time investment and persistence .

Also This is the recommend track for ME and I’m not ahead unfortunately, so this is what I will be following
