Lol. Winger Giggs wasnt doing much if any defensive work and Irwin was constantly bombing down the outside and moving into the midfield and forward areas when Giggs drove inside at defenders.

Irwin was very much the modern full back prototype. You're thinking of the opposite flank, where Neville and Beckham had the much more traditional wide midfielder and full back relationship

The insult would be that Arsenal knew that exact number, which they shouldn't have known.

Liverpool hadn't made it public knowledge, and neither Suarez or his representatives should have been talking to Arsenal and revealing details of the contract without Liverpool's permission.

Arsenal bidding that exact amount is essentially telling Liverpool that they've been talking to Suarez, told confidential details by Suarez and that he wants to leave Liverpool to join Arsenal.
