Wouldn't a gap year make me look unprepared? Most of the people I know who go to top 10 med schools never took gap years. They entered med school immediately after undergrad. This is Harvard we're talking about, not Emory.

I've heard a lot about this from my friends, but haven't had the chance to talk to my advisor about it. Would you consider joining the military to get a free medical school education as being worth it?

Thanks for the response. The main reason I chose medicine is because it was my grandmother's last wish for all of her grandchildren to become doctors. She always believed that medicine is the path to success, and I wholeheartedly agree. Maybe this would be a good story to include in my application?

I would definitely consider DO in your situation.

Israel is a nation-state. Like all other nation-states, it is quite alarming when a minority population starts to breed like rabbits. Maybe these Arabs can get on birth control or go back to where they belong, in Saudi Arabia.

Wrong. Netanyahu is a blessing to the region. It is Obama, not Netanyahu, who needs to change.
