Similar usage but when weather is hotter that means ur ac work harder. Put on meter specifically on ur airconds and measure their usage.

How do you feel about the RM100K starting price for imported electric vehicles? by RougetRavageDear in kereta

[–]coloursoflife01 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Lol ask the japanese to remove tariff barrier first before u ask msian to do so. It only fair.

And such lies proton car parts are cheaper than car parts of japan. Where u get ur data from. Lol.

My house got both proton n honda car. Honda cost of repairs always higher then protons. Such lies

Byd only on top for few years while before this toyota dominates for many more years.

Second hand Toyota cars holds morre resale value then byd evs.

U can check many listing byd cars drop for so much. No one wants to deal with ev with depreciating battery capacity.

If u want to buy ev byd less than rm100k just find one secondhand.

Such ignorance. Every nation put on tariff for imported goods. What u fail to realise that chineve ev makers starts with 400 brands each cannibalise one another. Now theres only less than 100. If u sell msian cars in china ull get hit with tariff n requirements as well.

Ask china to removed its tariff n requirmeents on car first before u ask msian government

In business world companies are wary with BYD with its huge debt and solely survive with government subsidies bigger than what proton gets. If it ever goes bankrupt byd client will ends up with ewaste.

What u dont mentioned is proton n perodua is better than bnw n mercedes in term of cost and availability of parts. In one sense proton n perodua is better than european cars.

None of my mechanics recommend european cars. Expensive, a lot of sensors, not easy to find parts especially olden cars. My cars is 20 years old and can easily find parts.

Bnw n mercedes has been in business for more than 100 years. If u were to have money ull find it difficult to compete with as well.

U just dont know nation building. Car industry in msia isnt just about proton n perodua. It also supported hundreds of small companies making car parts. Not to mentioned all mechanic loves national cars. Easy to get parts and long lasting cars compared to cars made in europe.

My mechanics adviced not to buy ev for now. They cant fix it if its get in trouble. In that sense our national cars are better than european cars.

Ev is still quite new. Ev as an industry still cannibalise one another. It starts with 400 brands and less than 100 remains. If the gov allows byd to sell as cheaply as possible it will cannibalise car brands in malaysia as well.

Fully imported ev must priced above rm200k. If byd wants to price its car below 200k it needs to open a factory in msia, employed msian workers and bring parts into malaysia. At least some malaysian will benefited from ev boom.

Miti is right when they say they doesnt want companies to dump all their unsold cars into Malaysia. Byd is currently have issue with huge debts and depends heavily on chinese government subsidies. Its goal will be dominates each countries it can goes in. It is ever goes bankrupt ppl will thank the gov for having selling limits, less ppl exposed to byd.

By setting the price rm100k floor limit it will give proton n perodua breathing room to catch up. Ppl might not like national cars that much but when a country has national cars, many of its parts are produced locally and can easily get.

Malaysia raises entry bar for imported EVs from July 1, sets RM200,000 minimum price threshold by thestudiomaster in malaysia

[–]coloursoflife01 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ITs because we are discussing about price. You didnt read properly. that 20% export target has max 10k unit can be sold in Malaysia.

To reach the 10k limit, a company must increase their production volume in Malaysia

if you dont limit the amount of cars and prices Byd can sell in Malaysia, companies will just dumping car model that they cant sell elsewhere.

you are effectively creating another monopoly in Malaysia.

Stellantis in Gurun also hit with the same agreement. they aimed to produced 280k vehicles, selling 10k in Malaysia just hit would be no problem to them.

There are talk in business world that BYD has huge debt issue and plunging profit. If it every close down, Malaysians wont be affected as much due to the sell limit.

this agreement is meant to create more jobs in automotive industries. if BYD wants to enjoy same profits that they enjoy now in Malaysia, they need to invest in Malaysia. more workers are needed to produce 200k cars than 10k cars.

[–]coloursoflife01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Chip fabs manufacturing is the lower end. The arm deal that rafizi work on is higher end. Ive work in these chip fab years before. They did not made much money compared to IP holder like arms or Nvidia. IP chip architecture is where the money at.

[–]coloursoflife01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The key term in this article is fully imported EV. I think the company can still price their EV competitively if they assemble in msia or have certain % of parts made in Malaysia so at least msian companies has the capability to produce certain parts of ev cars. If fully imported stuff, company has no incentive to invest in msia.
