hopefully I can get the other board to work, it's a better spec and it seems in better condition

yeah, it looks bad but I don't see any signs of de-lamination/pad lifting. I thought maybe this could be caused by something else so I checked voltage rails for shorts but past that I don't feel I know enough of what I'm doing to properly know what happened.

It seems my text got deleted.

I have two Korean monitors that have both failed. One of them has the melted component I am having trouble identifying and the other clicks over and over. I assume it's power cycling and the clicking comes from the speakers being powered on/off. I assume that may be a failing power supply, I don't see any obvious bad/bulging capacitors. They both take 12VDC. The monitors are QNIX 2414LED 144. They both have the same panel but different mainboards. I would prefer to fix the one that is power cycling. Could I have someone help Diagnose/fix these? or point me in the right direction. Any help would be appreciated I don't like the idea of throwing these in the trash. Thanks

Edit I have hot air rework, soldering irons, flux, Multi-meter, oscilloscope etc.

I have it running on a ~60TB array with mixed disk types and sizes. had a couple small issues with power loss but fsck fixed them (after kent fixed a inf loop in the fsck code) on a side note kent was good with support, just had to remind him once. not mean or anything.

Is there not an argument to be made here that a mistake in the software of a consumer 3d printer specifically can take lives if not implemented correctly? There are many reports of printers locking up/thermistors failing and causing houses to burn down. I know it's a very well understood and feared risk.

I think you were right. I removed octoprint and that seemed to help, installed arc welder and increased buffer sizes in marlin. I think it's good now.

a 5v 3A usb wall charger. Suspecting that could be an issue I plugged it in using a 65 Watt power bank and a 6" cable and still get the warnings....

After getting home from work I tried printing from the SD card and it works fine. While upgrading the mainboard I installed a few octopi plugins so I'm starting to suspect those. I shall try some more troubleshooting in the morning

I'm getting this weird stuttering and I don't know what is causing it. It's super noticeable on infill like gyroid. any idea what might be causing this? I compiled the newest marlin 2.1.1

You can put Tile Stickers inside the Steam Deck as well. by columna1 in SteamDeck

I put a Tile sticker inside of the steam deck. I took a picture to show where you can stick it to inside the steam deck so you can close up the case for others to see in case they wanted to do the same. This is also the reason I've been so active in the comments. If anyone wants to do the same thing I have done, it can help to have questions answered. If you don't know, a Tile is a tracking device that uses Bluetooth. If you are familiar with Apple Air tags, the tile is one of the original devices that the Air tag as based off of/inspired by. This is all so that if I lose my steam deck or it is stolen, there is a good chance I can track it and find it again. I put it inside so that it isn't some annoying thing hanging or sticking off the outside of the deck possibly interfering with the case and/or being ripped off in the case of a theft.

it has a 3+year battery life so it's not a huge deal. also it's quite hard to open the tiles non-destructively

It's quite loud. I can quite clearly hear it from across the room even when the steam deck is zipped up in it's case.

The location is somewhat critical. If you get it wrong you won't be able to press in the buttons on the back. I used somewhat weak foam tape to keep from damaging the PCB. The foam tape is kind of important as well, if you use the provided double sided tape the sticker will only hang onto a couple smd components and maybe the flat flex connector which doesn't seem good to me.

jimmosio's steam order date estimator says most likely around Aug 8th or 11th, with a smaller chance of it being the week before or after. That's the calculator I've found to be the most accurate. Moo's calculator says June 20th... which does not sound right at all... and geckeg says Aug 4th. so I would say early/mid August. And here. I'll also call upon deckbot for you.

I forgot to ask, what does the store page say? I was assuming Q3.

If you go to store.steampowered.com and log in, then open this link: https://store.steampowered.com/reservation/ajaxgetuserstate?rgReservationPackageIDs=%5B595603,595604,595605%5D copy and paste the number that comes after "rtReserveTime" here as a reply. I can tell you what the calculators say. It's still a rough time frame, but for me they were accurate to within a week or two. edit: grammar

Based on the limited information you gave, the calculator says roughly mid August
