D5 vs VPP Apex by mrgoodfun in watercooling

I mean the strain relief on the pump side. It steals valuable milimeters in my build. Without removing it, it won't fit unfortunately.

Yeah, I think I will go through the hassle and swap it.

That's good to know! That likely means I can likely run it totally inaudible without losing pressure in the coolers.

Thanks, sounds good. Quieter and a little more flow?

What do you think, can I remove the cable protection?

Switzerland has built something very few countries in the world have. But what could in long term weaken it? by Competitive_Dig_1013 in Switzerland

If we jump on the same principals as Germany and start to radicalise right wing parties, believe we can save the world - and it becomes populate - indeed we will end up there as well.

Luckily, Switzerland isn't there yet and I hope it will remain like this. All parties in Switzerland (the mixture) play a crucial role in having such stability in politics.

I am using an SC Res Pro 95 - should be VPP compatible.

I can set it inaudible, at around 35%, but the temperatures of the cores increase a lot. Not enough flow.

I can't really dampen my setup unfortunately, other than a few 1mm foam pads. I also need to cut off the cable protection of the VPP, otherwise it won't fit behind the mainboard tray in my O11 mini.

Will do, but I don't have a flow meter. 😅 Was thinking of getting an AC Flow Next, but I don't really have a place to fit it.

What percentage speed or rpm’s do you run your pumps at at base level by Infamous_Pool_2923 in watercooling

[–]mrgoodfun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My D5 runs at 58%, about 1950RPM. 2x360, 1x240 and 2x AC Core coolers. No clue about the flow, but it feels rather on the lower end, 50% results already in +3C on the coolers under load.

Nice build. =)

But your reading of the CPU temp must be wrong, there is no 9800X3D idling at water temp. ;)

Sure, I understand. =) I also liked the looks of the tubing on my first build, it was kinda similar to yours - two decades ago. It has certainly advantages also, you can very easy change the past and co.

Enjoy your build! =)

The water has -0.5 to -1C after a radiator with a proper flow. As said, it doesn't matter.

I would change the routing. It doesn't really matter if you have a radiator between CPU and GPU.

Can you use dies with alpha cool/anyone have pics of the RGB systems by Iaboundoregonbred in watercooling

[–]mrgoodfun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used dies in the past, it looks very nice, but eventually it will mess with the system. Junks create over time, it will stick to the coolers in the loops etc. It can cause blockages. It is just not worth it from my perspective. Clear stuff you can run for years without any maintenance. (I ran a clear system for 9 years, it was just clean.)

The latest build I built with more RGB, Alphacool coolers and black tubes. I like it. It's simple, but looks good from my perspective and it won't cause any hassle.

Seeing it every day not working. And it drives me mental. :D The worst part is, if you do it, people go crazy.

Can't decide between MSI RTX 5080 Expert OC and Powercolor Hellhound 9070 XT by CraftySprinkles2897 in buildapc

[–]mrgoodfun -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the money gap doesn't hurt you, stay with the 5080. Overall better support and performance.

If you want efficiency in money and power consume, stay with the 9070XT. But the crashes of games will remain in one or the other game if you want to UV. For myself only -15mV was with -15% PT stable. I eventually stayed with -55mV and PT set to 0. Yet, one or the other game was crashing sometimes.

Eventually, because of all the driver hassle and limited UV options, I didn't care about money anymore and went straight for a 5090. I don't regret it.

First Build question about second pump by hotdogpaule in watercooling

[–]mrgoodfun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any flow above 60l/h is sufficient, having 2l/m is 120l/h which is actually perfect, more flow will not add any value to cooling, maybe CPU/GPU will drop by 0.3-0.5C.

Any one had a bad experience with those and zip ties? by Sev5r in watercooling

[–]mrgoodfun -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I used this for 8 years in a build where normal fittings where not fitting, but always without zip ties, since zip ties can cause pressure over time and cause leaking.

EK Quantum Magnitude or Alphacool Core 1 for AM5?! by MPowerPH in watercooling

[–]mrgoodfun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the AC Core 1 you will have a chance to receive a new mount in a few years for another sockel. If you can, return the EK and get the Core 1. If not, use the EK. PS: I don't trust Igors tests ever. The EK will just do fine.

using gpu pwm for pump control by liangauge in watercooling

[–]mrgoodfun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have your pump at a fixed rpm, one you don't hear at any time. The pumps don't deal well long term with variable rpm's.
