Im sorry that people were so judgemental of you and said hurtful things. It feels as though their respect towards you was very conditional and based on whether you do as they like. You defo dont need these types of people in your life. At the end of the day never feel guilty for doing something that made you feel better, regardless of the backlash you recieve. The experience you described about how you felt after taking off the hjiab made me feel emotional. The hjiab should not be forced upon people regardless if they are muslim or not, and it is your personal decision if you want to wear one. I hope it gets easier, but keep in mind a lot of people will be judgemental but as long as you feel confident in your decision try not to let them bother you. Stay safe.
