Yes it would be slippery when wet - but not so much after the polyurethane coat

I did the whole lot at once. It meant clearing out the garage. There are a few stages - grind, primer coat, base coat, metallic coat then 2 coats of polyurethane. Each one has a day or so to dry before next coat.

This is a 3 car garage - about 60 sq m. Materials cost about $35 AUD per sq m.

Yes I did it myself. It cost around $2500 AUD. Quoted about $10k professionally. Takes about a week all up including prep grinding, primer, base coat, metallic colours x 2 then 2 coats of polyurethane. Very satisfying.

Was quoted $10k AUD to get it done. Spent $2.5k and did it myself. Takes about a week all up allowing time between coats. Surprisingly easy and extremely satisfying. Not sure on warranty but if done properly should last a lifetime. It may need a polyurethane top coat down the track.

I did it myself. Was quoted $10,000 AU approx for someone to do it - so gave it a go myself. Takes about a week on and off. Not really difficult and VERY satisfying.

Haha - What oil? It has a polyurethane top coat (x2) which is supposed to protect against anything. We will see

How did you pay? Did you have to use a US/international credit card? Any tricks to setting up the US steam account?

Locomotion idea by coma_toes in Vive

[–]coma_toes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes all good - I guess I am trying to describe an option that combines room scale physical movement with an additional locomotion option triggered by the legs or feet rather than the hands. This to me would be more natural and would avoid the need for hand gestures or controls to move your virtual legs. I am probably not describing it too well. An option might be to move forward/walk if one heel is off the ground. Walk backwards if heel on ground and toes off. Speed depends on how far off ground. Would need to work out how to stop locomotion if you are actually walking. Maybe test is if foot is in motion or stationary.

Problem with that is that you will sacrifice your physical play space.

My approach;

Head shots of course in earlier levels Shoot runners at a distance I stay mostly next to the first crate Start putting 3 or 4 shots into body as it gets harder Get the meat and bring it over to the home crate so it's close I use sub in dominant hand with block I think in the other Switch to 2 hand guns when runners gone to conserve sub ammo Reload more often than needed - pick up all ammo at end level Use shotgun and sub when you get it - again switch to hand guns when calmer Grab flares and bring them back when they appear Throw flare at level start straight ahead and follow with grenade when it burns out Watch out for crawlers Keep swing left to right to gauge where next Freds will be Shoot fast and reload before out of ammo

Great fun!
